    a wedding album

Just a few pictures (that I took last fall in Central Park- yeah, I know) of Jess & Ian’s wedding album I thought I would share today.

Going to be trying a new vendor for a new kind of album that I’m hoping to put into rotation for bsquared. More of a storybook for family sessions. I’ll keep you posted, but let me know what you think of that idea.

the bsquared summer calendar- now open for booking

Well, in hopes that this post will somehow force summer to come (or at least spring. Can’t we have some weather that is not winter? Please?) because my great plan of purchasing flip flops a week ago didn’t work out so well. John said that leaving them out on the table wasn’t really quite the same as putting Mary in the window- hey, it was worth a shot. So I’m opening up the bsquared summer calendar thru August for booking. You can find that calendar here.

I opened it up yesterday to subscribers of the bsquared newsletter (which you can subscribe to if you aren’t already by clicking the b2 newsletter tab on the left side of your screen. It’s worth it to get a jump on the fall calendar before it goes ‘public’ this summer.) and a lot of dates went quickly, especially beach sessions. So it gives me hope that maybe other people think summer might actually come this year too. If you’re interested in booking a date, you can email me (at bethbeyrer at yahoo dot com), leave me a message here on the blog or on my Facebook bsquared page or text me or call me or send me smoke signals- whatever your preferred method of communication might be.  I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Dates are booked first come, first served.

And since I’ll be taking bsquared on the road a little bit this year (Boston for Memorial Day weekend. California, Arizona & Nevada in early August) I’m hoping to meet some new bsquared friends and take fabulous pictures in totally new (to me) locations. So hit me up if you live out that way or will be visiting the same time I will be and we’ll get you set up for a bsquared session. In a whole ‘nother state!!

And here’s a summer shot. Cause I know I’ve almost forgotten how it actually looks. (still have to scope out the beaches before the summer season- see where we will be shooting and what dunes are missing from Sandy. Going to be interesting.)

    i’ll cross that bridge when…

A few bridge pictures from back in the summer. Yeah, I’m THAT behind. Been taking some online classes recently on editing & post processing and having a great time playing around with my newfound knowledge.

And an entirely different kind of bridge…

And just one last thing…trying to get some more participation going on here on the bsquared blog from you, my trusty readers. How would you feel about a little incentive? When I post a family’s session, they can receive a free bsquared gift if they receive 10 or more comments on the blog post. So all you’ll have to do to help them out is post a little comment on their session. (not going to tell you what that gift is though- you’ll have to wait your turn for your bsquared session and get your 10 comments to find out what it is!) Thoughts?? Comment below. Who knows, maybe someone will win a little something for commenting… (yeah, I’m all about the bribes.)

    bsquared photography tutorials

So here it is the slow season for photography- no weddings until the summer, no family sessions scheduled until March. And I’m trying to shoot for myself a bit, catch up on some projects, make some overdue doctors appointments/check ups, but if you know me you know I’m not happy unless I have about a million balls in the air all at once. So to that end, I’m offering some photography and photoshop tutorials to any bsquared readers/clients/friends who might want to learn how to better use their cameras (read: get out of auto mode and learn what all those dials and buttons actually do!!)  learn some post processing in photoshop or lightroom, and learn a bit about photography in general. I’ll be offering both group classes as well as private lessons. All you’ll need is an SLR camera (the “big” ones where the lenses are interchangeable) and a brain. It would probably help to bring both to class.

Please note that the classes are only for beginners or those with some photography experience. No professional photographers nor those looking to become one. Just those of you who want to learn to do a great job taking pictures of your families/kids/parties/vacations.

Classes will be held in my home in the month of February, possibly adding a few in March depending on the interest and availability.

Daytime classes or private lessons for 2hrs available between the hours of 9:30am-12:30pm (we can get started anytime in that window). Evening classes or private lessons starting at 8:30pm until 10:30pm. A class is 3 or more people. 2 people is still considered a private lesson. We can decide on a syllabus for your class or private lesson based on what best fits your needs and what you want to learn.

Prices are $70 per person for a 2hr class, $85 per person for a 2hr private lesson. Discounts available to anyone who’d like to sign up for more than one 2hr class/lesson. Please contact me at bethbeyrer at yahoo dot com or thru the contact bar above if you’re interested in signing up! Looking forward to helping you on the other side of the lens!!

You too can be a professional like me. Where is that sarcasm font when you need it?

a new year, a new calendar

I love a blank calendar, but I love a filled one even more! So with that said, it’s time to fill the 2013 bsquared calendar- its now open for booking for sessions from January thru May 2013. You can find the calendar here. If you’d like to book a session, you can shoot me an email at beth beyrer at yahoo dot com, use the contact button above, leave a comment here on the blog, or Facebook me. Looking forward to seeing your smiling faces this year.

Made some changes/updates to the bsquared blog header slide show (you might be featured!), to the bsquared Facebook page header photos, to the about me page and to the pricing & packages page. Nothing major, just a little freshening up for a new year. Also revamped the bsquared magazine and the contracts, so if you are booking a session with me this year you’ll receive those in your welcome packet.

If any of you are wondering about a Beyrer family or bsquared holiday card, you didn’t miss it. I was so crazy busy this year and with the whole Sandy disaster I just ran out of time to take a picture/make a card. Well, that changes this week- I’ll be sending out a belated New Years card really soon.  If you’d like to receive one and you aren’t sure if I have your address, just email me your address and you’ll get one in the mail soon. Better late than never I guess.

The deadline to nominate a family for a free bsquared mini Sandy Session is 1/10/13, so if you’d like to nominate someone and haven’t yet sent me an email or fb message (please put sandy sessions in the subject) please do so soon. All emails are confidential.

A new bsquared newsletter went out this morning. If you didn’t receive it and would like to, just click on the b2 newsletter tab to the left side of the blog.

Jack and Patrick had their interviews at Regis High School this weekend, so now it’s just waiting to hear if they made it in. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed. Any prayers or good thoughts always appreciated! (we find out for sure around the end of January. I’ll update here.)

And because a post is not a post unless there’s a picture, here’s one (or two) from Christmas. These are not the pictures for the belated New Years cards though.
