    dr. beyrer dedication

    As many of you know, my father in law passed away earlier this year. He is very missed. He was assistant superintendent of schools in Lynbrook for many years, and was also in charge of the Kindergarten Center. To honor his memory and all his great work there,  last month they dedicated a plaque for him in the Kindergarten Center Courtyard, including the official Kindergarten Cheer (that he made up):

    The Lynbrook Owl is a wise old scholar,

    If you’re in Kindergarten stand up and holler!

    Woo!

    katie’s headshots {don’t press send}

    My neighbor & friend is a published author of Don’t Press Send and lectures around the country. Well, when going around the country in person was a thing. Now she’s doing virtual classes & presentations to schools. Katie needed some updated headshots so I walked down the block and took some new images for her. Wishing Katie continued best of luck on her awesome, timely and effective program! Life would be better for all of us if we weren’t so quick to just press send!!

    the colomb graduation

    One of my longtime and favorite clients had their oldest graduate high school last week and had a small party for him and his friends. In the “new world order” the party was smaller, all outdoors and different than normal but still just as happy an occassion as it would have been if things were pre-pandemic. The kids were great and looked very happy to celebrate their big day, just a little delayed. Good luck at NYU Michael (hope you’re there in person!) and to all of your smart friends who are off to their own awesome Universities in the next few weeks!

    hannah & the grads

    Sounds like a band, right? Hannah just recently graduated from Boston College and wanted to do a shoot with all her long time BFF’s from high school who (of course, because pandemic) are all currently living back at home. No time like the present! Hannah has been one of my earliest bsquared muses- I just love taking her picture, and this shoot was no exception. We were originally going to shoot at the beach, but literally as soon as we all got there it started raining and was so windy. So we flew (Hannah drives like a lunatic like me, just another reason to love her!) back to town for a shoot in the park with no rain or wind. Glad we got it in before we lost all the light. What a super fun way to celebrate your graduation and your besties!!

    lewis’s senior session

    This year’s seniors have had SUCH a raw deal with absolutely everything, so I’m extra happy to be able to photograph them this year to commemorate all of their achievements- regardless of a pandemic. Lewis is a high school graduate and brought along his family for a few shots too. He has worked at the adaptive ski program at Mt. Snow for a few years now, helping kids and adults with special needs to experience and enjoy skiing. Since we have no snow (not like i’d enjoy shooting in that weather anyway!) in June in NY, we went totally opposite and had his session at the beach. Help show Lewis your support on his hard work by leaving him some well earned congrats. Also, his sister Cayla (who’s bat mitzvah I shot last year) has been thru the ringer the last few days with some major medical issues. So leaving the whole family some messages of support I’m sure will be much appreciated. Congrats Lewis!!
