    the emur family

A friend from high school who now lives far, far away was in town for a few days and we squished in a session for her and her kids. You may recognize them from last year’s shoot, and the young man is also featured on my blog header. Their grandmother is the owner of Garden Gate and had the yard landscaped beautifully- made for easy shooting!

Well, that and the gorgeous kids!

Thinking ahead for Christmas. Liz, you look beautiful! And in an homage to last year’s shoot with the beach shower, we turned the hose on the kids. They didn’t seem too upset about it.  Next year, we have to fit dinner in there somewhere too! Hope you enjoy your pictures!!

    beach fun

We haven’t spent nearly enough time at the beach this year. Been there on the weekends lots, but hardly during the week at all. Was planning on a beach week this week, but so far it’s been a bust weather wise. Here are some shots on a day I lugged the big camera down to the beach.

The ocean has been crazy rough this summer. Evidenced by Jack being taken out on the right.

Timmy can really swim now. Like I can let him go in the pool alone (while watching of course and he has to stick close to the wall- but he can do it!)Patrick:Patrick, Colleen, Erin and Jack. They’ve been friends for 9 years now. And every summer their mom and I say that that was probably the last summer that they’d hang out together, and they keep proving us wrong. I’m so glad!

Jack:A little fun with Uncle Nelson. Even though he’s moved to NJ this year, he still manages to make the transcontinental trip to the beach with us. Love me some sandy, salty, spiky beach hair!Fell asleep on the bench, on John. Hard day of play at the beach can do that to ya. Patrick trying to pretend that we’re not annoying the crap out of him. And Jack, being a good sport for me.  Hope everyone else is enjoying their summer too!!

    jessica & ian- the reception

I’m sad that we’ve come to the last installment of this amazingly classy and sleek wedding, but have lots of fun party and detail shots to share with you today.

The beautiful bride and handsome groom.

A bunch of details from the reception which was held at the lovely Eleven Madison Park. Some friends and family to help celebrate the day. A little help from her sisters with mom looking on. Zoraida did a wonderful job as my second shooter- thanks Z! She made my work go smoothly and it was great working with her. I was torturing the mother of the bride with photos, so it was her turn to get back at me!Ring shot (at least there was not a second story balcony for them to roll off of this time, right?) and the flowers on the right are actually all the handmade ones on the cake. Amazing detail. The toasts. And the whole group.

Jessica & Ian it was such a pleasure working with you. I enjoyed your wedding so very much and I hope you love all the photos. You are wonderful and I wish you only happiness and love in your new life together.

    jessica & ian- the portraits

So, it was like the hottest day. Ever, I think. It was close to 100 degrees with matching humidity readings. But I have the very best brides and grooms, ever, I think, and they did all they could to pull off a perfect portrait session. And pulled it off they did. A lot.

I loooooooved the checkered cab. Made for fabulous pictures and it was just plain cool.

Handsome groom. With thoughts of a dirty water dog before dinner, perhaps. Their ‘baby’ Charlie the dog stopped by for a little lovin and some pictures too. How cute is he?The shot on the left was fun- stopping traffic (well, NYC traffic doesn’t exactly stop- they just went around us, with horns blasting) to get the shot. This lovely lady is Ian’s 95 year old grandmother. Isn’t she fabulous?!  And really does not look close to 95. Love the guy in the background snapping a picture too. I sat down on the dark cement to get the shot on the right and seriously burnt my butt it was SO hot. Favorite- so something 1960’s classic about this one.  Reception to follow shortly. Stay tuned.

    jessica & ian- the ceremony

At a beautiful church in the Village. With an old school NYC checker cab. With a beautiful bride and handsome groom. And lots of family and friends in attendance. What else is there?

Love Jessica’s expression here on seeeing Ian. Watching his bride come down the aisle.
And, they’re married!! I even got to sign the marriage license (see, full service photography!). Portraits up next. Maybe early next week.
