    oh, it’s summer alright

With temps in the upper 90’s around here yesterday and today, it’s definitely officially summer. Even though school isn’t done yet (that happens tomorrow). Timmy wanted me to break out the sprinkler- you know, the cool back and forth one- but of course it was nowhere to be found. So I got out the only remaining sprinkler in the garage and we made do with that.

Hope you are all staying cool today.

    the gold family

This was my second time photographing this adorable little family at their home in Westchester. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t terribly cooperative and it started raining 15 minutes or so into our session and continued to rain until after we were done. Luckily, I brought my lighting with me so we finished the rest of the session inside. In the outdoor pictures, if you look closely you can see a few raindrops here and there.

The kids got so big since last year’s session and were so cute and fun!

andreya & mike- beach & other portraits

Heading back to Andreya & Mike’s special day (you can find the other installments here: getting ready, first look & portraits, ceremony). Every time I edit and post another part of the wedding, I tell myself that THIS is my favorite part. So my newest favorite part coming up below. And once again, big thanks to Kate Meyer for all her second shooting amazingness all day.

We were racing the lasts of the light big time.
The funnest wedding party! And then we went back on the lawn to finish up some portraits we didn’t take before the ceremony. My BFF Jen & her awesome husband Brian. Jen & Brian are Timmy’s BFF Jack’s mom & dad. Love that kind of symmetry.
Only have the reception left to post so that’ll be coming your way soon.

    the murp family

I was lucky enough to photograph this amazing family for a second time before they moved away this week. Dad is an active Marine and had recently returned home from his tour in Afghanistan, only to pack up and move on to their new home in another state. And even though I only knew them for a short while, I’m going to miss them!!  After walking into their home, which was mostly packed up for the movers I was even more excited that they chose me to photograph their family. They had pictures literally covering the walls of their family in all different countries. I was so happy to be added to their walls in their next home to remember their time in NY.

You can see their first session here, which we did when dad was home on R&R. The kids look so much bigger and so much more grown up in only a few months! Good luck to all of you on your next adventure and I really hope we meet again!

    pretty, plum & luxe

I recently received a gorgeous album that I created for a client and wanted to share a few pictures of it with you. I was beyond happy with the way it turned out, and seeing my client pour over each page while smiling from ear to ear just made it all the more special!

Here’s the bsquared 10×10″ Luxe album in plum leather with a custom monogram. Taking pictures of pictures never comes out that great, but you can see how gorgeous the whole album is with it’s deliciously thick pages, sturdy binding and panoramic layout (so there’s no breaks in the middle of the two pages, giving it a totally seamless presentation). If you’re thinking about ordering a luxe album from your session or event, I have samples in the office to share with you. I promise you will see why the luxe albums are luxe!!

I’ll be back after the weekend with a ton of new posts (after having a 5 session week this week, I’ll have plenty of new material to blog!) Happy Friday!
