    cayla’s bat mitzvah- the party

The 3rd and final installment of Cayla’s special day (you can find the temple and the portraits on the blog, just click the links). Cayla’s a disney girl (a girl after my own heart) and there were sprinklings of Mickey heads throughout, like hidden Mickeys at DisneyWorld. A great time was had by all with the candlelighting, montage, plenty of dancing and good food and good friends and family most of all.

    the abra family

A brand new to bsquared group I had the pleasure of photographing recently. One of the daughters and her girlfriend flew in from Australia so we had a really limited window in which to get the shoot done. Thankfully the weather cooperated (and all the people did too!) and we had a great, if a little breezy, day for our session. The tree on the property we shot on had special meaning to their parents as they took their wedding photos in front of the same tree. Pretty cool, huh? Oh, and apparently the dog is famous. Itty Bitty (thats his name) was on the cover of O Magazine. So there was a real celebrity at our session.

    cayla’s bat mitzvah- the portraits

After getting ready (you know I loved LOVED her silver glitter doc’s!) we headed up to the Allegria Hotel’s roofdeck, only for it to start raining almost immediately upon arrival. So we rushed to get in as many shots as we could before they kicked us off (i guess the deck gets slippery when it rains and they don’t let anyone out there anymore). The backdrop of the beach was lovely and I felt like we were in Miami Beach instead of Long Beach.

    andrew’s 1st communion

You know how time passes so quickly without you really noticing? Well, I photographed this family for his sister’s communion a number of years ago and he was just a little guy. So when mom got in touch with me asking me to photograph Andrew for HIS first communion, I couldn’t even believe it. That went super fast! I hope he had some fun with me during his session, I definitely did!

    kate’s first communion

I’ve lost track how many times I’ve photographed these three beauties (i love their blue eyes and dark eyebrows and lashes!) but I was so happy to be asked back again to capture a few pictures on Kate’s First Communion day. She was sweet, quiet and lovely (just like her sisters always are) and I had a wonderful time with them all. Their beautiful pool with palm trees in the backyard was a great backdrop for us!
