    emily’s sweet 16

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Emily’s Sweet 16. A super fun evening for a super fun girl. I love the way she has about her, so cute and free spirited and goofy and silly and just awesome! Her whole family is pretty much the same way, which makes for a happy/easy photography night. Enjoy the photos! And hope you had a wonderful birthday, Emily!!

    timmy’s birthday party

So exactly one month ago we celebrated Timmy’s 9th birthday. For his party this year he chose  a Lego Movie party. The Merrick theater is awesome, gives you a private theater for your guests along with pizza, unlimited popcorn and soda throughout the show. Almost 30 boys there (omg, my head still hurts) who are craaaaaazy when they are all together, and they had a great time I think. At least they were quiet and sitting during the movie. The rest of the time, notsomuch.

Make yourself at home there Sean. Liam was very proud telling me that he ate 7.5 slices of pizza. Most of the crazies.

Timmy had his 9th birthday party yesterday at Merrick Cinemas with about 30 boys. People told me I was brave. I think I may never recover. The Lego Movie was very cute (at least the parts I was able to watch) and all the kids had a great time! More pictures to follow once the February photo a day project is over.

Now THIS is a happy birthday boy! Happy 9th birthday Timmy- couldn’t imagine life without you! Love you sooooooo much! Let the ‘birthday vegetable’ commence!

Yes, I spelled out his name in Legos for a birthday surprise this morning. And it is a long standing family tradition to have a candle in each meal on your actual birthday, so a candle in the cheerios it is, and I sent his bagel in with a candle in it for lunch too. Dinner out tonight, a long weekend sleepover with his best friend and his movie birthday party next week. See, birthday vegetable.

    hakka’s suprise birthday

Yeah, I’m still in last summer with personal pictures. Well, at least they look bright and cheery compared to brown & grey of everything NY in the winter. I think I have that seasonal affective disorder. Or something.

Anyway, my mom planned a big surprise birthday for Ken over the summer, and it was almost a close call. Ken had been in and out of the hospital before his party with sepsis but was finally (thank god) well enough to get out and stay out. And he was really surprised! They booked him a suite at the LI Ducks for the evening. And I decided that that isn’t a bad way to watch baseball. Cause you don’t actually have to watch baseball at all.
