    the marc kids

As promised, here’s the “regular” portrait session from yesterday’s dance session. These kids are all so incredibly good looking, it’s almost a little annoying! I got the best BEST little boy hugs and a kiss on the cheek at the end of the session- ok, I know thats like illegal now, but cmon. Would you really turn down a hug from him? And in another life, he’s actually my kid. His mom told me that one day he asked for goldfish for a snack, but either when she said no or wasn’t fast enough getting them, he yelled “give me some fucking goldfish!!!!” He’s three. And my son in another reality.

    tiny dancer at sunset

This is actually part of a family session (i’ll post that tomorrow) but I had to make a post just for Gabby and her amazing ballet. If you are a bsquared follower, I hope you’ll remember some of her past photos and her being in THE Nutcracker at Lincoln Center twice. She’s now aged out of Nutcracker (I’m so sad!! But I guess if there’s a good year for that its 2020 since there will be no ballet season anyway) and will continue to dance at NYCB for the next few years hopefully, until they decide if she can be part of the company at 17 or 18. In the meantime, I’ll be asking to photograph her again so I can get my dance fix in.

    the lui family

I’ve been photographing this family since 2012 when the baby was a newborn. Look at them so grown up now! I’ve never photographed them outside of NYC (their hometown) before, but this year they decided on a beach session since there are like zero things the same in life now. Dad was cracking me up the entire shoot, trying to get his shoes and socks on without having sand on his feet when we moved from location to location. Needless to say, that didn’t work out. But I did teach them all the baby powder trick at the end of the session so he could get them back on his feet sand free. I had a great time with them as usual! While the wind is usually annoying (especially with long hair) at the beach, I think it just added something fun to this session.

    the schn family

This family came to me thru my camp friend Jodi (who you may remember from recent bsquared  sessions that I haven’t seen since 1984!) who were also renting out in the Hamptons this summer. As it turns out, their middle daughter is in school in the same grade as the famous bsquared burberry princess in the city! These girls are gorgeous and so mature and nice- you wouldn’t believe their ages if I told you. City girls, I guess! They were all a pleasure to photograph and I hope I’ll get to again in the future. Good luck at “school” this year, girls! I hope you’re back in person soon.

    the kear family

You get an amazing, jaw dropping sunset a few times a year during a shoot. This was one of them- the colors were unbelievable and the reflection on the water was just as awesome, and I adore this family- so a bit of picture overload to follow. We shot at their house out east where Catie & Austin’s wedding will be in just a few short months. We started at their home, went to the docks and the little beach right by their house. The timing couldn’t have been better with the sunset/moonrise and all of their smiling faces. One of my favorite things about this family, is that mom has the same ridiculous schedule as I do, so texting her at 3am is like a normal thing for us. Also, mom & dad just celebrated their 36th anniversary last week- so give them lots of congratulations!
