the mcgr family & maggie’s senior session

A bit of a combo shoot for both family & their graduate. With the pandemic I’m all about doing “hybrid” packages to cater to everyone extra amounts. Maggie will be attending (hopefully in real life!) Tulane next month, an awesome accomplishment to match with all of her other awesome accomplishments! Mom & Dad were (understandably) disappointed with the lack of ceremonies to celebrate graduation so they booked a shoot with me to capture some special moments with their girl before she leaves for college. Ps. didn’t she do an amazing job on the top of her cap? Best of luck at Tulane!!

    hannah & the grads

Sounds like a band, right? Hannah just recently graduated from Boston College and wanted to do a shoot with all her long time BFF’s from high school who (of course, because pandemic) are all currently living back at home. No time like the present! Hannah has been one of my earliest bsquared muses- I just love taking her picture, and this shoot was no exception. We were originally going to shoot at the beach, but literally as soon as we all got there it started raining and was so windy. So we flew (Hannah drives like a lunatic like me, just another reason to love her!) back to town for a shoot in the park with no rain or wind. Glad we got it in before we lost all the light. What a super fun way to celebrate your graduation and your besties!!

    jack graduates wake forest

So today, Jack graduates from Wake Forest University. Just like everyone else on this planet who is graduating from anything this year, this is not the celebration we had in mind. We would’ve all been at Wake to celebrate but instead we are going to be watching a virtual graduation at 7pm tonight. All these changes suck (those of you who know me know I don’t do well with change. “change is bad. we fear change.”) and are very disappointing for Jack I’m sure, but he doesn’t seem to mind all that much. I think he’s more disappointed in not being able to spend the rest of his “senior” year with his friends and taking his actual in person classes. They have rescheduled real, in person graduation to October and if that doesn’t work, to next May. So we’ll just hold onto that I guess.

I tried to make it as special as I could here without going too insane.

And despite all of the changes and let downs caused by the pandemic, it can’t dull how totally proud we are of Jack! Graduating in THREE years, with honors. He’s super motivated, smart and has a bright future ahead. Love that kid!! (he let me take some pictures, reluctantly because photographers kids syndrome, but at least there will be a few to remember this craziness).

    shayna’s graduation brunch

A brand new to bsquared family that was celebrating their daughter’s high school graduation with a special brunch at the Viana hotel with some close friends and family. Shayna is such a great young lady and very photogenic too! I was happy to meet and photograph them for a little while during their celebrations. Everyone was so nice and friendly and Shayna was surrounded but lots of love! Wishing her the best of luck in all her future endeavors!

    catherine’s pre-prom party

A few weeks ago I shot a pre-prom party for one of my favorite (breakfast at tiffany!!) clients and her friends and family. We lucked out with the weather and managed to get just about the whole shoot in before it started raining (but I felt badly for the kids who’s prom was on a boat that night). They seemed to be excited about the night, which is lower key than most prom’s; no dates allowed, no big gowns, no limos or busses, which was actually quite nice with a lot less pressure on everyone. Catherine’s mom threw a wonderful party for the kids and their parents. I hope the rain didn’t ruin the rest of the night and they all had lots of fun!web1web2web3web4web5web6web7web8web9web10web11web12web13web14web15.
