vince & michael’s wedding
I had the pleasure of photographing my first gay wedding up in Connecticut last week and I’m happy to be able to share a few pictures with you. But only a few, as they are saving up the ceremony pictures and portraits for display at their reception to be held in August (which I will also be photographing!)
Ok, really…I have to get one of those shirts. They are awesome!!
The ceremony was held at the Green Rocks Inn in Ridgefield, CT. And it was so lovely, calm, and welcoming there. The ladies who run it were absolutely fantastic and wonderful, without a detail missed from anything- the ceremony, the grounds, the decor inside, and their total love of what they do.
I worked with Vince (on the right) in my other life back at Jimlar and was so happy when he told me he was marrying Michael. And that he wanted me to photograph everything!! They make a great couple and are so perfect for eachother. They couldn’t have been more happy and were so thrilled to be able to get legally married.
The happy couple. The ceremony was beautiful and perfect. And they were so handsome and photogenic. After the reception in August, I’ll be able to post some of those ceremony pictures too, so stay tuned.
I just wanted to add that if any of my blog readers/stalkers have anything negative to say about gay marraige, I would appreciate it very much if you would refrain from posting it on the blog. Vince (and now Michael too) are my friends and (obviously) I am very supportive of gay marriage and believe everyone should have the same rights. Of course everyone is welcome to their opinion, I would just like to have only positive, supportive comments here on the blog for them to read. Thank you! -
caren & tim’s jamaican wedding- trash the dress
Not only is this the last installment of the uber fabulous destination wedding, but it’s probably my favorite. Caren and Tim were so fantastic, putting up with me for one last day of shooting and getting back into their wedding attire. But really, the shoot was pretty fun!!
How about we start with a little ‘from here to eternity’?
They are really so fun!
Lovely.
Caren, you rock my world!
I hope all of you enjoyed the pictures from the wedding as much as I enjoyed taking them. Now, who wants to book the next destination wedding?! I’m ready!! -
caren & tim’s jamaican wedding- the reception
We’ve reached the second to last installment of Caren & Tim’s awesome wedding, and now it’s time to partay! Although about 10,000 degrees with 100,000% humidity, it didn’t slow down the revelry at all.
Started out with ‘cocktail hour’ with an awesome steel drum band.

Some speeches- one from Tim’s mom (using props and everything!)

A few details.

Caren’s sister Beth’s speech.
Dancing with the parents. Awwww….
See, told you it was rockin!
Tim took part (he was kinda the ringleader actually) of their rendition of Single Ladies. Awesome!!
I think I must’ve sweated off about 50 lbs that night, but it was worth every drop of sweat! My face hurt from smiling and laughing behind the camera. Thanks for a great end to a great day!! -
caren & tim’s jamaican wedding- after the ceremony
So, inbetween the ceremony and the reception we took a little time out for some portraits of the bridal party (including parents of course, and the entire cast of guests there) right there on the beach. It was amazing to me how quickly the light changed and how different the pictures looked just within the space of a few minutes.

Since I’m posting this so late in the day, not going to take more time for the narrative (and you got the best story from the wedding yesterday anyway where I dropped the wedding ring off the second story balcony!) so sit back and enjoy. There’s a lot.

caren & tim’s jamaican wedding- the ceremony
Can’t get much more ‘destination wedding on the beach’ than this. The ceremony was on the beach. Like at the water’s edge. Fabulous!!

And just as an aside- are you following the news and the craziness going on in Jamaica right now?? Wow, talk about timing. So glad we aren’t there for the wedding now!!
Tim had to turn backwards until Caren was ready to walk down the aisle. He did look pretty excited though, huh?

Told you the hat would be making many appearances throughout the wedding festivities.

It’s official!!
Congrats you two. Love that you are SO in love!
Lots more pictures to come. Working on the ‘after the ceremony but before the reception’ shots now. Be on the lookout!!
