    jeannine’s boutique

One of my favorite stores in town, owned by a great friend (surprisingly, her name is Jeannine!) just launched the store’s website. Its a project that’s been a long time coming. She asked me to do some product photography for the site, so here are a bunch of shots of some of her products in the store. So excited to help out and have a little fun with some spring color on the blog today. Go check out the store in Rockville Centre, or her website at www.jeanninesboutique.com I promise you’ll love it, probably too much!!

some stuff (summer calendar, communions, senior sessions, products & ordering)

Sorry, couldn’t think of a catchier title for my blog post today. A few things worth mentioning- the bsquared summer calendar (june-august) will be up on the blog for booking on Monday, April 14th. In past years, beach sessions book very quickly so if that’s something you have in mind you might want to book that as soon as you can. Cannot wait to be shooting on the beach again in warm weather!!! Its hard to imagine with the freezing temps and howling wind we’re having here today that it’s only 2 months away, but it is!

Being that the weather is supposed to be turning nice (freaking finally) soon, don’t rule out booking a spring time shoot. Only 5 spots available for April and 5 available for May. You can find the current bsquared calendar here. Shoot me an email or leave a comment here if you’re interested in booking a date for a springtime session. Communion season is rapidly approaching and things are going to get really busy here at bsquared, which I am really, really looking forward to. Been a horribly long winter with not much going on in the way of sessions (it’s freezing, ugly and brown & grey outside. i don’t want to be out there shooting and obviously, no one else does either!) If you haven’t booked your communion session there are a very few dates remaining. Don’t forget, you don’t have to do your communion session (mini or full) on the exact day of your communion. Sometimes its more relaxed to get dressed up in your communion finery and do the session on a totally different day where there is no rush to get to church or the party, or have to take care of all the other details of the day. You can email me at bethbeyrer at yahoo dot com or just use the contact button on the top of the blog.

Speaking of May and warmer weather, if you have a graduating high school senior this year, please consider a bsquared senior session. You get way more options (both in terms of location, outfits, “props” and number of prints in your package) than you do with the traditional school photography with the blue background. We can even do the cap and gown shot as well. Wouldn’t you love to have this very fleeting, special time of your high school senior with all their interests, personality and just them captured before they leave for college? You can find more about the bsquared senior sessions here and find some photos from last year’s bsquared seniors here. To book, shoot me an email at bethbeyrer at yahoo dot com or click the contact button at the top of the blog.

And lastly, here are some bsquared products that went to their home today. So happy to see clients printing big, gorgeous images to be displayed in their homes. (when it comes to printing, I’m pretty much a “bigger is better” advocate). Here are two 16×20 mounted prints from their beach session, with 3 mini books that mom went crazy for. She can’t wait to keep one and share the other two with family. Sharing is caring, ya know.

If you haven’t yet ordered your prints, disc, enlargements, albums, etc from your 2013 (or earlier for you slackers ;)) bsquared session, you may want to do that soon! I’ll be clearing out the archives to make some room for the 2014 sessions. You can order by shooting me an email at bethbeyrer at yahoo dot com or by clicking the contact button above on the blog. I’m more than happy to help you if you’ve forgotten what you have included in your package, with choosing images to enlarge, with framing, with albums- whatever you need.

    timmy’s magazine debut

Last summer I took a photo workshop with the absolutely amazing Zoe Berkovic. We became friends (she really likes my cursing and zombie obsession!) and when she put a casting call out for a size 7 boy for an editorial shoot on Facebook, I barely restrained myself from jumping thru the computer to post “I HAVE A SIZE 7 BOY!!!!!”. Zoe was shooting an editorial spread for the brand new Teresa & Thomas magazine up in Big Indian, NY (which is like a 2.5hr + drive, but I would’ve driven to Portugal for a Zoe shoot!) and Timmy was accepted as a model for the shoot. He made his big debut in the 1st edition of the magazine last week and of course, I am in lurve with the photos.

This was the start of the whole modeling thing for Timmy. He’s really liking it and we’re having fun.

This was one of his full page spreads:

The picture on the left was another in the magazine. I love his pissed off face in the one on the right- that was taken after the whispering picture when Zoe asked the boys to kiss the girl on the cheek. The left was another full page in the mag.
And the rest are all pictures that didn’t make it into the magazine, but are fantastic nonetheless. Zoe even took a few of me with my boy. Love! And a few shots of the magazine itself. Taking pictures of pictures are never as good as the real thing but wanted to show you the magazine.

This was the “story” he was in.

A big thank you to Zoe for the use of the photos, and to Stacie Fitzgerald for styling Timmy for the session.

    introducing…the storybook album

Because you have a story to tell! (and that story is awfully garbled and difficult to hear while being told from your kitchen drawer where your disc is).

So, let me ask you: where are your bsquared session photos? In a drawer? A few in frames, but most put away and you can’t quite remember where? And how about your session disc-hmmmm, where IS that thing?

Lets face it- every picture from your session isn’t going to be framed and hung as a huge 20×30 wall print. That one with everyone making funny faces or your son picking his nose? Probably not something you want hanging over your mantle, but you just looooove that picture and it always makes you smile when you look at. So, why leave all those shots that aren’t quite wall worthy, (but still are a big part of your story) in a drawer or on a disc no one ever sees? That makes me kinda sad! Let’s get those nose picking, giggling, pouty, silly, jumping, cuddly, ridiculous pictures that are uniquely your family, out there for everyone to see your story!

So happy to have a new addition to the bsquared family of products- the storybook album! The storybook falls right in-between the layflat album and the luxe album. Deliciously thick pages with a mix of full bleed images (pictures that go from side to side and top to bottom of the page) and clean collages with a number of images per page. A photo wrap around cover and back. Gutterless pages (so you don’t get a black line and a gap between the left and right pages with that line going right down the middle of someone’s head!) And most importantly, your choice of the number of pages between 10 (20 spreads) and 50 pages (100 spreads) all to tell your family’s story.

You are welcome to use images from one or several bsquared sessions, all combined into one storybook. I’ll design the book for you and you’ll get to see a proof before it’s sent to print for any changes you’d like to make. Storybook albums come in 5×5″, 8×8, 10×10 and 12×12 sizes and prices start at $375. Not a bad deal for a lifetime of memories in your very own custom storybook!

the bsquared summer calendar- now open for booking

Well, in hopes that this post will somehow force summer to come (or at least spring. Can’t we have some weather that is not winter? Please?) because my great plan of purchasing flip flops a week ago didn’t work out so well. John said that leaving them out on the table wasn’t really quite the same as putting Mary in the window- hey, it was worth a shot. So I’m opening up the bsquared summer calendar thru August for booking. You can find that calendar here.

I opened it up yesterday to subscribers of the bsquared newsletter (which you can subscribe to if you aren’t already by clicking the b2 newsletter tab on the left side of your screen. It’s worth it to get a jump on the fall calendar before it goes ‘public’ this summer.) and a lot of dates went quickly, especially beach sessions. So it gives me hope that maybe other people think summer might actually come this year too. If you’re interested in booking a date, you can email me (at bethbeyrer at yahoo dot com), leave me a message here on the blog or on my Facebook bsquared page or text me or call me or send me smoke signals- whatever your preferred method of communication might be.  I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Dates are booked first come, first served.

And since I’ll be taking bsquared on the road a little bit this year (Boston for Memorial Day weekend. California, Arizona & Nevada in early August) I’m hoping to meet some new bsquared friends and take fabulous pictures in totally new (to me) locations. So hit me up if you live out that way or will be visiting the same time I will be and we’ll get you set up for a bsquared session. In a whole ‘nother state!!

And here’s a summer shot. Cause I know I’ve almost forgotten how it actually looks. (still have to scope out the beaches before the summer season- see where we will be shooting and what dunes are missing from Sandy. Going to be interesting.)
