    senior sessions- now booking!

By senior sessions, I do not mean people of older age- I mean high school and college seniors! We all know how blergh most of the yearbook photos are- totally cookie cutter, no personality at all, boring backdrops (unless of course you opted for the 80’s laser background- is that even a thing anymore? it totally should be!). I mean is that really the way you want to remember your senior year? Selfies and phone shots are so great and totally have their place, but wouldn’t it be so much better to have professional photos at locations that mean something to you, in outfits you choose, looking your best with someone who can pose you in a way to highlight your best attributes and bring out your personality? Yes! And that someone is me! I wish senior sessions were more of a “thing” here in the New York area (they are HUGE in the south and west) but I am on a mission to make it more of a thing here because I LOVE doing them!

Family members? Yes, bring them along. Friends? Absofreakinlutely! A friend group is always super fun! Pets? Please bring your furry besties! Props? (a favorite car, your sport jersey or equipment, your instrument, your art, a book that moved you, your favorite blankie or stuffed animal, your college hoodie for your current or soon to be home for the next 4, etc etc etc)- yes, yes and YES!

For those of you who are rising college freshmen and are planning on rushing, your sorority or frat may require a headshot. Don’t you want to give them something that says “YOU”? Or if you’re graduating college and moving on to the business world, you’ll need a great photo for LinkedIn or for your resume. No selfies or ducklips.

Lastly, parents- your baby is leaving the nest. Don’t make your “big memory” picture of them the yearbook photo. Make it a photo that will make you smile every time you look at while they’re away- because you know that’s your kid and their full on personality in that picture.

Because I have my own senior this year, dates are a bit more limited due to prom, graduation, orientation, and college starting mid August. So don’t delay and book your senior session now!!

olivia & friends at the mercy ball

The Mercy Ball is a long time honored tradition here in our town where seniors can be sponsored to go to the ball as honor guard. Boys in tuxes and tails, girls in gowns. Its almost like a winter version of prom. Olivia and her parents had a little pre-ball party and asked me to come over to take some pictures of her with her besties and their dates. And parents too! They all looked gorgeous and had a great time that night. Stay tuned for another pre-ball session at a different house coming up soon.

    ava’s senior session

I’m alive- just been nothing but Christmas and holiday sessions, editing, cards, etc etc etc. And since a lot of client’s cards haven’t gone out yet I still can’t post those sessions- so here’s a lovely high school senior and a few shots from her recent session with me. Ava was a pleasure to photograph and her dog is super adorable. A winning combination!

    olivia —> UVA

Congratulations to Olivia on signing with the University of Virginia for rowing/crew! I’ve known her since when she and Timmy were 5 or 6 months old where we all met at Gymboree so this was exciting for me too! I still can’t over the fact that they’re all seniors and off to college in just a few months! I’m so happy for her and her family and UVA is lucky to have her!

    magnolia dance

A different kind of senior session (plus two juniors) but one i LOVED photographing. These kids have been dancing together for many, many years and are super close friends so they wanted to capture some special moments together at dance, at play and in some graduation attire. Mission accomplished! Wishing these kids all a wonderful senior (and two junior) year! I can’t wait to see where life takes them all.
