more good music
Went to see The Cure a few weeks ago with Robin at Madison Square Garden. The last time I saw The Cure, it was at Radio City in 1985, I was 15, and the ticket cost $17.50. Things are a little different now, but the music was the same and great! Robert Smith (the lead singer) looked and sounded just like 1985. Except I wasn’t miraculously turned back to 15. Sad, but true.
Always an interesting story. When I arrived in NYC, I was going to meet Robin right in front of Penn Station at the Taxi stand. While I was waiting, some big carribean dude came up with a rolling suitcase, said "how’s in going, blondie?" and walked away, leaving the suitcase at the Taxi stand. Uh. Hello.
So I went and found the nearest police officer, told him exactly that, and he rolled his eyes and told me that on the list of things he dosen’t want happening, that was pretty much at the top. Super. So he went to check out the suitcase and after a minute or two, came back and told me that there were wires poking out of the bag and that they would have to clear the area. The whole area around Penn Station!
And then he said he was just kidding and I hit him. Yes, I hit a police officer. Not hard or anything. But I was half expecting the cuffs to come out and for me to miss the show. Anyway, there were no wires sticking out of the bag- it was just a homeless guy’s clothes. But (although I committed battery on a police officer) I did my civicpost9/11new yorkseesomethingsaysomething part. And I didn’t go to jail and got to see The Cure. It’s all good.
Thanks Robin for the pictures! And let me know about Billy
JoelIdol. Maybe I can find another unattended suitcase! -
It’s happening.
Timmy is turning into a photographer. He’s always asking for the camera (thankfully, not for mine) and snapping away. And the first thing he says while holding it? "give me a biiiiiig smile!". That’s my boy!
And on one final photography business note…today is the last day to get the lower rates. Tommorrow, prices increase by $25.
Jack & Patrick started baseball camp today and really liked it. A bunch of their friends are doing it too which is always good. I think Patrick liked it a little more than Jack did- you know Jack and the whole running thing. Believe it or not, I didn’t take the camera (I can hear you gasping in disbelief). I am so burnt from the weekend’s shoots. I will take pix of them at baseball camp before it ends next week- but in the meantime here are some pictures (see told you I was so behind) from the end of their little league season. This was the All-Star game.
Timmy started ‘camp’ today with his best buddy, Jack. He had a great time and really liked the teacher and the class, and especially the playground and water table. Again, no camera so no pictures.
Spent the entire afternoon at the "crunchy club" in the pool (well, the kids were in the pool). It was nice. Maybe I’ll make it to the beach sometime this summer. Ya know, the beach club that I paid half of this year that I have only seen once so far this summer? Yeah, that one.
I am now 5 full shoots backlogged in the editing department. And staying up til 1am (at least) everynight does not seem to be remedying the situation. You just know how happy I am about that. For those of you waiting for your shoots, I’m going as fast as I can and will contact you the minute they are up. Okay, enough blogging. Back to editing.

Last day of school
Well, today was the last day of 3rd grade for my big big boys. Can’t believe they will be in 4th in just a few months. Seriously, 4th grade? They were just starting Kindergarten last month.
On a side note, I am so behind on all the stuff I want to blog that I decided I’m just starting with today’s stuff and working backwards. Otherwise I’d be posting the last day of school sometime in August.
Since school was only one hour today (yeah, the stupidest thing ever), Timmy and I hung out in the playground in the back of the school while the boys were inside. Jen, Jack & ‘baby’ Michael met us for a little playground fun. Blue puppy made the trip over with us.
Picked up the boys and had a look at their fabulous, outstanding report cards. Fantastic!! Really, couldn’t have asked for more (well, except Jack is still getting Improvement shown for Organization- that’s just so him) since they got almost all E’s (excellents) in everything else. I got them the new Indiana Jones Lego Wii game to celebrate. Poor Jack got sorta blindsided by both his teachers with the whole kissing thing. Needless to say, he was not happy. So later in the day we went to the ‘crunchy club’ (Timmy’s version of the country club) for an afternoon of swimming and then home to Wii it up while Timmy and I played some board games. Then off to see the Turn at practice (see below post). All in all, a great day and a great ending to 3rd grade. Summer, here we come!

Mommy, I physically fit!
Is exactly what I heard from Timmy on his second to last CATS class! They had a little physical fitness test and he came running out all excited with his little paper of achievements, yelling "mommy, I physically fit!!!!". So cute.
These pictures are from his very last CATS class- of course with his bestest buddy Jack. Timmy does a little dance (complete with "oh yeah, uh huh" song) after every single thing he does at CATS. Whether or not he actually makes the goal or basket is beside the point. You get the dance and song no matter what.
We wrapped up OT and PT today until September. We left with a daily list of things to do to keep up with therapy over the summer. Wonder if we’ll get the dance and song after each one of those activities too.
Getting their hard earned trophies. "teammate" Aidan.
Gee, you think Timmy’s a little excited about his trophy?
Here’s the fantastic Coach Eric who the boys all adored. He was a great coach, so patient and fun! So great, he gets two pictures.

a little business, a little fun
Business first to get that out of the way:
1. Just a friendly reminder- as of 7/1/08, my prices increase by $25. (photoshoot $150, party for 2hrs $250- travel not included in either fee)If you are interested in booking a shoot with me and you do so before 7/1/08 (the shoot itself does not have to be prior to 7/1, just the booking), the prices are as is.
2. I only have a few more summer weekend shoot dates/times available. So, if you are looking for a summer weekend session, you might want to consider booking it now. As of this minute, these are the weekend dates/times available thru September 1st, 2008:
Sunday, June 29th 5pm or later
Saturday, July 12th morning only
Sunday, July 13th anytime
Saturday, July 26th anytime
Sunday, July 27th morning only
I will not be booking anymore sessions during the month of August, so if you are looking for summer, these are the only weekend dates left. Weekdays are open but subject to availability.
3. There are still a number of weekend time slots available in September and October. However, November weekends are booking up really quickly with only limited spaces left already. If you are interested in a November weekend shoot, you might want to book now. Plenty of weekday spots are available in September, October, and November.
4. In order to avoid the "Christmas Crush" of last year, if you’d like a photoshoot with the purpose of having the images as holiday gifts and/or cards made from the images FOR CHRISTMAS or HANNUKAH or NEW YEARS you must have your holiday photoshoot completed by Tuesday, December 9th to ensure holiday delivery. I will not be booking any shoots between December 20th, 2008 and January 10th, 2009.
5. As previously mentioned, I am working with a new card printer this year who is just phenomenal! I will be offering real folding cards in various sizes, including trifold cards, and accordian cards- all custom made with the photos of your choice from your shoot, along with your choice of designs, fonts, colors, finishes, and well, custom everything! I’ll be posting some samples of the trifolds at the end of July along with pricing information. I will still be working with Rockville Camera as last year and creating custom photocards there as well. So you will have your pick of tons of cards this year! And don’t forget, if you are booking a mini session, you will receive a $10 credit toward your card order (from either printer).
6. One final thing…an ammendment to the "growing up squared" plan. I’ve changed things around a bit –so instead of having 4 shoots during a calendar year (jan-dec), you can do your 4 shoots in the plan anytime you’d like within a year of purchase. If you’d like to do 4 in 4 months, great. If you’d like to spread them out, that’s great too. Or anywhere in between. As long as you complete all 4 shoots within one year of purchasing the plan, it’s all good.
The 4 shoots still do not include parties or additional family members. The growing up squared plan shoots remain as full sessions for your immediate family over one year. As of 7/1/08, the fee for the growing up squared plan will be $500.00 for your 4 sessions, payable at the first session. You will still receive the same $100 savings then if you were to book 4 shoots seperately.
Fewf (as in phew-but thats how the boys would say it)…that was a lot of business. Now on to some fun pictures. Took these at the park the other day with the boys just goofin around. Patrick took the ones of Timmy & me. He’s pretty good, no? Warning: A ton of pictures ahead.
