    beth & suzanne’s awesome 80’s party

    …and to think it all started late (very late) one night on Facebook.

    The party really was awesome and it was so great to see everyone who came! We had a lot of no-shows which was disappointing but we had a bunch of people who did travel far distances just to make it. So to everyone who did come out and got their 80’s on, thank you! And we hope you had as good a time as we did!

    So here are the pictures you have been waiting for:

    Me in all my 80’s glory. Can’t wait to wear the sneakers again!

    And there are just no words for John’s outfit. I had a lot of fun shopping for this!Love the rings and shoes? Fresh. My fantastic co-host Suzanne and her husband Rob. 80’s yearbooks, aquanet, rubber bracelets & a gear bag. Class of ’87. Christine, me, Sue, Cheryl, Suzanne & Jenn.And #44 frosted pink lipstick in full force. I think I’m going to start wearing it all the time. The funniest thing is that since they really don’t sell #44 at Harmon Drug anymore, both Suzanne and I went to Harmon and picked the exact same lipstick out of the zillion there. Who’s with me on bringing back the frosted pink lipstick trend?It seems that Rob is always surrounded by a harem of women. Best hair of the night. Best 80’s outfits of the night. My amazing friend Sue who came all the way from Boston just for the party. Love, love love her!!!Thanks to my brother in law Joe for working the door for us, and to Tommy, Anthony & Danny at Kasey’s for a great night at their restaurant.  Unfortunately due to the lack of attendance we didn’t collect enough to put together any boxes to send to the troops (we actually didn’t have enough to cover the costs of the party) but I’ll put some more together to send anyway. Thanks everyone, for a great night!! It was totally tubular!

    give a pint, get a pint

    My good friend Suzanne (who is also my co-host for the upcoming 80’s party!) and her husband Rob.

    Rob has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and they have been fighting it really, really hard for over a year now. Rob’s doing so well (and looks as handsome as ever, don’tcha think?!) and his friends held the 2nd annual blood drive in his honor. They collected around 200 pints of blood. John donated too- and since I can’t, I went and took pictures again just like last year. So if you give a pint of blood, you get a pint of beer. A good trade off and lots of good friends there supporting Rob & Suzanne.

    Hang in there Rob. We all love you!!!!

    timmy’s birthday vegetable- part 3 {school party}

    On his actual birthday, Timmy got to celebrate with his class at school (which was pretty much most of the kids at his bowling birthday party anyway). John and I got to go in and read and bring in the ever important ice cream cups.

    First, some of his birthday haul.

    And then the very happy birthday boy in his Kindergarten classroom. Are ya one, are ya two, are ya three…Timmy and his BFF Jack are even the closest in February birthdays.  And that concludes Timmy’s 6th birthday vegetable. Hope you enjoyed the festivities. Can’t wait until next year (but if he could stay little that would be even better!!)

    timmy’s birthday vegetable- part 2 {the party}

    So, breaking with tradition, Timmy decided NOT to do a Rec Center birthday party this year. He wanted to have a bowling party. So we did.

    Timmy and his BFF Jack, who never seem to be more than a few inches apart from eachother. The boys’ baseball trainer & coach, Bryan who was so nice to come to Timmy’s birthday party. He told Timmy that if he hit well earlier that week that he would come to the party.
    The original 3 friends!See what I mean about not being more than a few inches apart?Possibly my favorite picture from the party. Timmy deep in prayer that he gets a strike. And although the party was NOT well run at all (the ‘helpers’ for the party were way less than helpful and the service was pretty awful) the kids had a great time, especially Timmy. So in the end that’s all that really matters. Just be forewarned if you are going to have a party there. Since Timmy hates cake (even ice cream cake) and cupcakes which covers just about all of the available birthday party celebratory fare, so he decided on ice cream cups.  Pretty good choice as it turns out!I think he was pretty happy with the whole day!  On a sideish note- I wasn’t really feeling very well at the party (that was the start of my sinus infection I think) and missed so many great shots. I knew there was something up- I was so off my game. I watched as so many great shots passed me right by. At least I still got a few decent ones.

    the stac christening

    I was so happy when mom booked me to photograph her little girl’s christening. Photographing christenings is always so much fun for me, especially when I get to be there for THE moment in the church. Little miss M did wonderfully, no crying at all. And priest was the funniest, most easy going priest I have ever seen. He was all about getting the mass done timely so everyone could get out to watch the Jets game and he was so good with all the kids there, having them come up to the font and explaining about the water. The best joke of the day? “How do you get water to become holy water? Boil the hell out of it.” Ha!

    She is perfect, isn’t she? And mom had the christening gown hanging right there in the window when I walked in. Just for me. Do my clients rock (and know me so well) or what?A few fun ones- the chaos of 3 littles and getting everyone ready to head to church and a party all while trying to look relaxed and calm. Ahhh, life. No doubt you will recognize a few of the faces here. Mary Ellen and Kenny were standing in for Miss M’s godparents who couldn’t be there for the Christening. Unfortunately, Sara (the godmother) was in the hospital with preterm labor with her 5th baby and was then sent home on bedrest and a terbutaline pump.  Been there, done that and I feel terrible for her. But I hope she can enjoy the pictures from her bed today- and Sara you’d better be laying your butt down!!!!! Hope you enjoy the pictures and thank you so much for letting me be there for Miss M’s special day!
