    introducing…baby daniel

So excited to photograph this little 3 week old and his fantastic family. I’ve photographed the girls for a number of years now and it’s been so fun watching them grow up! Now we have a whole new family member to have in all the photographs!

I kinda went a little mixed on this session with some lifestyle/photojournalistic shots (which is the way I prefer to photograph newborns. I enjoy seeing them in their element with their family, especially in mom & dad’s safe and loving arms. Or sisters!) and some more traditional newborn photos for good measure, too.

This little guy was all smiles for me. How awesome is that?!Some eye contact, huh? It was pretty fleeting but I caught at least one glance in my direction.Daddy left me a whole table (literally) of Giants paraphernalia to choose from. I picked the bucket. (and please note that this is a composite photograph- his head was supported at all times and he was safe with Mommy’s hands on him the whole time). Beautiful!Ok, the one on the right- welcome to the very glamorous life of newborn photography! At least mommy had a great sense of humor about being peed on, and some Resolve carpet cleaner. More importantly it was only pee….This little guy is going to be more loved than he can even imagine.

    the stei family

My second time photographing these guys- such a fun and busy family! It was a gorgeous night at the beach and we had a great time running around and playing. Oh, and taking pictures too! At the end of our session, I left them in the ocean jumping some waves. I think that was a pretty good ending, especially for their oldest son who was thoroughly enjoying himself!

Love the light in these. They had big squishy hugs like these in our last session too!

    the clyn family

A brand new to bsquared family who was all about hanging together and having a good time. Just my kind of session!! Their adorable 5 year old twins kept me on my toes with lots of running and action. Loved the dynamic between them- well, between all of them!

Rock, paper, scissors. Can’t for the life of me remember what was said here, but it was pretty awesome whatever it was!

    zoe’s workshop- part 2

You can check out yesterday’s post here, but again, the whole shoot was styled and conceptualized by the amazing Zoe, with fantastic child models that couldn’t have been more amazing to photograph. Let me just say that these kids were still smiling genuine smiles after 2hrs and 9 photographers working with them. Sweetest kids, mom was a doll and their dad/husband serves in the Marines. So a big thank you to all of them for his service!

I loved this spot in the orchard and waited and waited for the kids to be done with the photographers they were with to get them over here.

    zoe’s workshop- part 1

A few weeks ago I attended a pretty amazing workshop by the totally amazing Zoe Berkovic in Warwick NY. I had a great time, learned lots of new things and  met some fantastic new photografriends. Oh, and took some pictures. Here are just a few shots from the first day/part of shooting. We got to shoot in someone’s beautiful home with some great child models, all styled by Zoe.

I debated posting these (and the rest to come) as it’s really Zoe’s creation. Her models, her location, her styling, her directing- I just shot and post processed. So I feel like it’s not really MY work (and it would be pretty hard to take a bad shot of these gorgeous kids in gorgeous clothing in the gorgeous house) and it’s almost like cheating. But the images were pretty cool so I figured I’d share while I edit some of my client sessions. My angles aren’t the best as there were 7-8 other photographers shooting at the same time in some small spaces and I’m definitely not a highly competitive shooter- I kinda waited my turn and grabbed a few quickly and moved out of the way for someone else to go.

More from Zoe’s workshop to come soon.
