the reku family

A family new to bsquared but not entirely new to me. I met the mom during this year at Timmy’s preschool but moreso thru the RVC Education Foundation. She was my contact for the Dancing with the Teachers Gala that I took pictures for this year.

They are a great family and I was so glad I got to photograph them. They chose a beautiful (private) old estate on the North Shore. I really swore I was going to drive right off the road going thru, it’s a photographers dream. It’s a long story how we got to shoot there but I’m not allowed to share it publicly, so you’ll just have to view it thru the pictures. Sorry.

Three handsome and great boys. Right up my alley!

The littlest one was not into the photoshoot much at all. I tried to get more shots of just him, but he really really wasn’t in the mood.

We were only a few shots in when I heard the thunder rumbling menacingly in the not so far distance. We scrambled to get in as many as we could before the rain came. And it was a ton of rain! I was soaked thru.

We took some shots in the house and the greenhouse while we were waiting for it to clear up, and it finally did.
A few more outside.

Thanks reku family- I had a great time, even in the rain!!
And a few shots for their friends who live on this estate. They are expecting their first baby in the fall. Dosen’t she look fantastic?? All glowy. Not to mention the amazingly delicious lemonade slushie with mint that she made for us. Oh my. Must get that receipe. I’m not much of a lemonade girl (just water, thanks) but it was so completely delicious and refreshing.

Traveled a pretty far way to meet up with this family, but it was SO worth the hour + of driving each way! They were so warm and welcoming, and super photogenic too!

And look at the smiles from this one. Think I have a little crush!

When I saw the leafy bowl on top of the china cabinet in the dining room, I actually gasped. I knew it was going to be fabulous. And it didn’t dissapoint. Turns out that it’s one of mom’s most favorite pieces. So her most favorite piece (her son) went right in to make a beautiful picture.

After running all over the house and outside for pictures, I asked if a bath could be worked in. Luckily, it was!

We had limited time as the little one was due for a bottle and a nap. Finishing the shoot with the fully napping baby with his little tush up in the air? Perfection!!

Thanks for letting me share part of your day and for rearranging your schedule to help me get the pictures I had in my head!

the wrig christening

I have no doubt that you will remember the beautiful and fiercely loved Miss A. On this special day she had her Christening and she was as beautiful and as fiercely loved as ever. Except now there were lots more family and friends around to shower her with affection. Can’t beat that.

Mom and Dad and their loved little girl.

Lots of blessings.

Some ‘is it over yet’?

Godmother and Godfather.

Proud Grandparents and Aunts & Uncles.

And lots of family and friends to help celebrate Miss A’s special day.

My favorite inbetween moment- when a child suddenly goes boneless.

And I think my favorite picture of the day on the right. Just something so her about it.

As I walked in the door and met the very shy (NOT) children, one of the very first things the little boy told me was that ‘this is a house filled with love’. Ok, love this kid already! Now to capture the house filled with love…

So cute! All of them!! Especially together!

I’m hoping that Daddy sees how very much he is loved by his little girl as reflected in this photo.

She gave me some good ones in the beginning but was quickly all done with me and my camera. But she was so cute, I wanted to keep going. Can’t have it all! Had to grab one with her and her favorite doll named “Orange”. Apparently, Orange is a member of the family too and is often featured in photos.

Such a boy. And the converse on top of the house filled with love…really? He’s so smart on top of it all.

Loved him writing on the garage door so much, couldn’t decide if b/w or color was the way to go.

Thanks for letting me capture your house filled with love! (and for the extra a/c, even though we were outside most of the time! Still very thoughtful of you!) Hope you love the pictures.

One of my original ‘growing up squared’ families that I still have a few shoots left with. Haven’t seen them since the winter and I was so surprised how much, yet how little, their adorable son has changed.

So although the little boy was totally not in a happy place on the day of our shoot, we did somehow capture some happy smiles and tons of other varied expressions. And this kid has a truckload of awesome expressions.
(smiley & oooo excited)

(rockin & neckpinchingfingersucking self soothing)

We had to work quickly and get the shoot done before he was done. A quick change of clothes (to celebrate his ‘big one’ year old birthday) and that was that.
(ok, you know that stick in the picture on the left totally looks like a cigar. even the way he’s holding it with the pinky up.)

Always great to see you all. Looking forward to our next shoot! Maybe we’ll be able to take a little more time…
