the nev baby

My very good friend Jen & her husband Brian welcomed their 3rd boy about 3 weeks ago. This is Timmy’s very best friend Jack’s new little brother. After 2 reschedules (one for weather, one cause they were still settling in) we finally were able to do a shoot for baby Brady. In all his newborn deliciousness.

A few of the very proud big brothers.

Got the apple hat and the knit diaper cover from a shop on Etsy. That place is dangerously fun.

My mom knit the blue coccoon which I was so excited to squish Brady in. I really wanted to do it nakey but Brady didn’t want to sleep. At all. So when he finally gave in for a few very brief moments to sleep, it was all I could do to get him in there quickly without waking him up. So, it’s not exactly how I planned the shot in my head, but so cute nonetheless.

I want to know where all the photographers get their SLEEPING babies. So far all my newborns have been very, very awake! But I do have to say that they do give great eye contact and with those big blue eyes, that’s not a bad thing at all.

Love you guys! Big congrats!! Looking forward to the next shoot where we can use the other props!

the pows family
This family came to me thru the powe family- they are cousins. And I think I fell in love with their little boy just a little the second I walked thru the door. What a cutie pie!

His first birthday is this week, so the photoshoot was in honor of his special celebration. He’s definitely the apple of his parents eye.

The other baby had to get her moment in the spotlight too. In her cute doggy tshirt no less.

Poor guy is teething- hence the ‘booboo face’. But honestly it’s not a sad face, he’s sucking on his lips.

I loved their home- great colors and decorating in every room. His happy apple green playroom was a photographers dream.

Mom almost didn’t let me upstairs, but after seeing his room, she couldn’t have kicked me out if she wanted to. Sorry, but as soon as I saw the sky painted on his slanty ceiling, I was staying!

I had a great time meeting all of you. Thanks for the fun morning. Can’t wait to make your storyboard…

the led family 3.0

As you saw from the sneak preview the other day(and shown again above), this great family just welcomed a new baby, their third girl! I love working with them- mom is the nicest and has the best outlook on life. And the girls have come SO far with me since we started taking their pictures over a year ago. I think they might actually like me at this point, and I couldn’t ask for more than that. Genuine smiles and happy giggles.

Grandma and Grandpa were in from out of town to visit and help with the new baby, and told me how their home out west is covered in pictures of the girls that I took. Needless to say, I liked them right away! And now they will get a few pictures to add to their collection with them actually in it!

Didya notice all the frames in the background? All pictures I took. There’s nothing that is more satisfying (other than repeat customers and referrals!) than walking into a clients home and seeing your work prominently displayed. Hopefully, there will be some of this shoot’s included soon too!

The baby was fast asleep when I got there and got started with pictures which was good and bad. Good because she was happy and I could work quickly with the bigger girls before it was lunchtime and naptime for them. Bad because then she woke up and all the pictures I had in my head for the perfect squished up sleeping baby shots were not going to happen. But, we rocked it nonetheless with some awesome eyecontact from this three week old sweet baby girl. So the bad– actually not bad at all.

I asked my mom to make me some new knit props for newborns that I have seen other photographers use. She’s an awesome knitter (seriously, the woman can KNIT) and whipped up 4 of these buntings/peapods for me in different colors. Thanks, Mommy Dearest!! It worked out great.

The day after the shoot was her Christening, so we got some shots of the beautiful handmade family heirloom gown.

Hope you like the pictures K and family. Great seeing you all again and meeting little miss C. She’s delish. For a viewing of the whole gallery of images from our shoot, click HERE.

weekend recap
Not really a whole lot to recap as not too much went on. Well, I guess that’s not altogether true. The weather still has me in a funk. I don’t feel like it’s ever going to get nice.
Anyway, Friday night I went out to dinner with a bunch of friends who I haven’t been out with in forever and a day. We had some drinks at one of their homes and then went to dinner and to see the band. It was a fun night. Pix on the band later this week as I have some other band-related stuff to post so I’ll do it all at once. Here’s one in the meantime.

Saturday morning had a shoot with a family I’ve worked with several times as they just welcomed a new baby girl. Again, one to tide you over, but more pictures later this week or next after I edit. Pretty and sweet…

Spent some time this weekend over at the park where Timmy played and the boys played some baseball with a neighbor and with John. The season starts soon, so they have been practicing every weekend a little. Got them (barely) to take some pix for me too.

Be ready for some Timmy picture overload this week. Been a snapping fool over the last week and he’s the only one that can still deal with me and my camera.

the walk family
This family was gifted with a bsquared session and they decided to call it in just in time for their cutie pie daughter’s first birthday. They live just a few blocks from me but we had never met before. Glad we did now.

They are all so nice and accommodating- even the dog was nice! I do have to say that if we ever get a dog, this breed is high on the list. Such personality and a big love too.

Can you even stand the baby blues on her? You can just tell how very much she is loved.

They have a great sunporch in the front of the house with tons of light streaming in. Unfortunately it was freezing the day of the shoot so we could only stay out there for a little while. But I did get some good ones (and froze my tush on the slate floor) before we headed back inside.

So nice meeting you Walk family! Hope to see you around the neighborhood. Oh, and see- no coverup needed on the scratch!
