“the coo family”
Had a really fun, spirited shoot on Sunday for the "coo" family. The mom works with my best friend and I went to high school with the dad. I know he was not too pleased with having to do the shoot, but really, none of the husbands are. The list of husbands that hate me is so long now that there is a waiting list to get on the list! Nah, really he didn’t hate me (just my camera) and was a good sport for the whole thing. But I think he left skid marks running down to the basement to play the Wii when he was done.
The kids were great. So funny how the son looks like the mom and the daughter like the dad. The boy did everything I asked of him and I think he had some fun (especially the jumping parts). I hope so cause I’m shooting his communion next month! And the little girl- what a pip! She did great and I just worked around her. There was really no sitting with her-she had her own agenda and most of it contained food- so there are snacks in a few of the pictures! Loved the dress up shots too- so fun and girly.
Here are a few of my favorites. Especially love the raspberry from the little girl with the spit literally flying!
And the boy doing his own flying. Some good height there- hope he plays basketball!

turning ONE (in pink)
Had a shoot on Saturday for little Miss J, who recently turned one. A big deal indeed. Both she and her big sister were dressed to the 9’s and very, very pink. Which made me happy as I loved the dresses, plus the fact that there WERE dresses. I don’t get that much around here.
Both girls had some pretty bad colds, so all things considered I think we did pretty well. We had already rescheduled the shoot once about 2 weeks prior and the poor kids were still sick. Poor mom was on tissue duty/snot patrol with the baby, and I had her running.
The cake shots were my favorite to take- that little girl LOVED her cake! She just dug right in, sticking her hands in first, then her whole face- right in. And when the cake portion was done according to mom, she really freaked out that someone was taking her cake away. Really. freaked. Needed a video camera for that one as she started grabbing for the cake with both hands and looking at her mom like she was nuts. Taking the cake away- not happy.
I sorta snuck my way upstairs to the girls very pink room against mom’s wishes, but in the end I think she was happy we were up there. It was almost pink overload, but it was so different for me and I liked it. Girls are fun.

Saturday’s shoot: the denn family
Had a really fun shoot on Saturday with the Denn family and their cute little 7 month old son, D. The house we shot at wasn’t theirs as they live a ways away, but their friends who live locally and were good enough to let me invade for a while Saturday afternoon. This house has amazing light and very little furniture in some rooms which just made my day! Little D wasn’t much of a smiler- well, for me anyway. But he is a boy who likes to live on the edge! When his dad was startling him, he was laughing like it was the funniest thing in the world. Silly noises, songs, faces…nothing else did the trick. He had to be scared to laugh! Got some really cute ones regardless. Love his giant saucer brown eyes!

the she family session- from before xmas
This was a session that a very thoughtful husband put together for his wife as a suprise Christmas gift. How much do we love that!! I know the kids from the beach club and from town so they were pretty at ease with me, which did away with the "warm up" period. That ended up being good as we had limited time to sneak into the house while mom was out, take the pictures, and return everything to normal -including the kids changing clothes back into the ones they were wearing before I got there. The aunt/sister was there along with her daughter and they were a huge help. Dad was out of town. Apparently, we really pulled it off and she was very surprised on Christmas! Way to go, family!

the mor maternity session
Not really a whole session, but a little gift for my friend. A few shots of her and her babybelly. We had fun. I almost forgot how cute the little baby clothes, room, crib, etc. can be. I can’t wait to get my camera on the little guy as soon as he’s born. They’re not going to be able to get rid of me!
