    a newborn shoot

Sunday morning I had a newborn session (one of my most favorite types of shoots) with the "man" family. The baby girl is only 2weeks old. She was cute and squishy and so new. And awake!! A lot. With a full head of hair. She really didn’t stay smooshed up for very long, she liked stretching out instead. Mom & Dad were so relaxed and easy going with me moving around their baby and dismantling parts of the house to get the shots I wanted. Hope you think it was worth it! And dad was an excellent blanket holder. Are your arms tired today? Their other baby is their dog, Bruiser…and the name couldn’t be farther from the truth. He was a big old mush and I had to get a few shots of him too. Img_8055slImg_8069sl_3 Img_8100x Img_8138sl Img_8172sl Img_8184sl Img_8189cbw  Img_8062pr Img_8212

    the arg christening

Had this shoot (and one other that I am working on now) earlier today for my friend M and her family. They were celebrating their baby’s christening today. One of the baby’s godmothers is from Italy and will be returning home shortly, so I wanted to get the pictures done right away so she could get a chance to have them before she left. I just loved listening to many of the family members speak in Italian- it’s my most favorite language to listen to. I don’t understand much (ok, hardly any) but I just love the way it sounds!

The baby was so beautiful in her dress, and is such a happy little girl. She has filled out so much since the last time I saw her for her newborn and christmas shoot. So smiley and cute. And her older sister is as gorgeous as ever and such a good subject. It helps when the whole family is so good looking. And on top of all those good looks, they are all so sweet. I was offered cakes, cookies, and champagne. (those Italians and us Jews have a lot in common with the pushing people to eat). Didn’t have the desserts as I am working so hard to do well on this week’s weigh in, and didn’t have the champagne as I didn’t want their pictures to be crooked and blurry. But thanks for offering!!

Took a few shots at the church as some of the family wasn’t able to make it to the house beforehand.

    Hope you love the pictures.Img_8229pr85 Img_8263sl Img_8307pr Img_8322sl Img_8339sl Img_8359sl Img_8402sl Img_8429sl Img_8442sl Img_8475pr Img_8452sl Img_8458sl Img_8500sl Img_8503cbw Img_8516sl Img_8555x Img_8568sl Img_8574mids Img_8597x Img_8225cbw

    to infinity….and beyond!

For a little while, Timmy was off the Buzz Lightyear/Toy Story kick. But now it’s back on at full force. I guess he’s gearing up for our Disney trip next week (notice the Mickey sweater?). He’s back to asking to watch Toy Story or Toy Story 2 at least twice a day and all the Toy Story toys have been going into the crib with him every night. He loves his Buzz. My favorite thing is:

    "mommy, close his eyes closed"

This does not have anything to do with Buzz’s eyes however. In Toy Story, Woody and Buzz are arguing about whether or not Buzz can fly. "can" "can’t" "can" "can’t". Buzz says "I can fly around this room with my eyes closed!"- and out pop his wings. So now everytime Buzz’s wings break or Timmy wants them closed he calls them "his eyes closed". Pretty cute and very amusing.

Timmy is super excited to ride on the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disney and to see Buzz in person again. He keeps telling me that he is dressing up in his Buzz costume in the park. I think I’m gonna have to let him. Img_8008sl Img_8022sl Img_8023sl Img_8025sl Img_8026sl

And in other news… I spent the majority of the day ignoring the kids scrapbooking the Disney trip from last year. I am almost done with it and it will be completed by Monday. Just waiting to get a few more pictures printed up at the camera store. So excited- it looks great! I actually accomplished my goal of getting it done before the next Disney trip. Woohoo! I will post it when it’s all done.

Two shoots tommorrow, so there should be lots of new stuff to look at on the blog this week. Catch ya later!

    silly

Just a few shots of Timmy playing his "silly faces" game. He’s way into games lately…old macdonald, don’t spill the beans, candy land, hi-ho cherrio. This one is my favorite though. Img_7986sl Img_7988sl Img_7990sl Img_7993sl Img_7994sl

the frozen orange bowl & the $12 dolphins

So here are the sporting events from our Dec/Jan Florida trip. They were all on disposable cameras so I had to wait to get them developed. So not used to that anymore.

John and Grandpa took the big boys to their first NFL game- the dolphins vs. the bengals. They got $12 tickets, so they really HAD to go. The boys had a good time. And going on a sunny, hot florida afternoon has to beat going on a freezing December day up here anytime. 89940005 89940003 89940002 89940006 89940007 89940025 89940026

We went to our second annual Orange Bowl game on Jan 3rd, and man, it was freaking cold!! The weather forecast said it was in the 50’s but there was NO WAY it was. It was definitely in the 40’s. Plus the fact that it was drizzling on and off all night, and we were up really high in the stands so we had a wind blowing! I ended up wearing about 7 layers- a long sleeved t-shirt, a sweatshirt, a heavy windbreaker sweatshirt, a lined windbreaker jacket, and another sweatshirt over that. And gloves. And I was still freezing! John keeps telling me that "some of us were more freezing than others" cause I had most of his clothes on too. So in my friend I’s word’s "Can’t. Raynauds." (I have raynauds syndrome which is where you lose circulation in your extremities when cold- so my fingers turn dead-fish white, and my nose, hands and feet are always freezing). And I don’t drink beer, so there was no warming up that night. We had the heat on in the car on the way home. In Florida!!! All wrong I tell you.

The game was great- very exciting. They had the usual jet flyover before the game which is SO LOUD. Although last year it was timed better with the national anthem. John always says that he dosen’t understand how 3rd world countries see/hear those jets overhead they don’t just freak out and say "okay, we give up". They are that intimidating in person. Really. The game was so exciting right up to the overtime ending with Kansas winning (which no one expected). While our whole family was rooting for Virginia Tech, of course Jack had to be different and route for Kansas. So he was happy in the end. I just hope it’s warmer next year!89920002 89920006 89920007 89920011 89920014 89920015 89920017 89930002 89930005 89930006 89930007 89930025
