the dev communion & christening
Wow, talk about two birds with one stone! Two beautiful girls from this family shared their special day- one made her First communion, and one had her christening. Lots of white puffy, fluffy, pretty dresses! Such a great family (with a dad who has great taste in colleges- Go Canes!) and everyone is really as sweet as could be. Just did a few portraits to commemorate the occasion(s).

the arl communion
Saturday afternoon I was lucky to photograph the arl communion. This is a great group of people that I have gotten to work with many times already (and who have given me many new clients). The youngest boy took a fall on the way over to take the portraits and was pretty upset, so from then on he wanted NOTHING to do with me. Mom is so cool about stuff like that and realized there was nothing we could do about it. (I did offer chocolate, but it just wasn’t cutting it). So he’s not in too many of the shots.
What everyone else lacked in enthusiasm for me and my camera, mom made up for! More than enough for everyone. She loves getting her picture taken. How many people can you say that about? I guess it dosen’t hurt that she’s gorgeous and modelish-tall with matching modelish legs.
The communion recepient is as cute as ever (loved the matching Brooks Brothers tie to his daddy & his brother) and was a good sport. But, in the end, he was pretty done with me too. But I did get some great ones of him on his special day. Handsome! Album on the left. Click on any image to see it bigger.

like deju vu all over again
Spent some of my day back at the infamous "school bus place" as Timmy had his first session of PT (physical therapy) today. Sitting in the waiting room, it felt I was just there with the big boys a few weeks ago- not 4+ years ago. So odd.
According to his therapist (who is young and pretty so he’ll be digging her) he did a great job and really loved the rock wall. But let me tell you, the kid was TIRED afterwards. Between school and PT, I don’t know what’s going to happen when we add OT in two weeks. I’m not sure he’s going to get anything out of it cause he’s going to be a mess. Guess we’ll wait and see. Here’s the cutie pie himself from the other day.Dont’cha just love the "water beard"?
In other news, just finished editing the pictures I took at Grace Day School and Grace Nursery School in Massapequa and Amityville. I can’t post them here as there is the whole issue of parents signing waivers thru the school, but I can post a few without kids in them. So here are a few from there. Looks like a really nice place to go to school. And great kids too.

more sports…basketball (but only watching, not playing)
Last week the boys school had a basketball game against the Harlem Wizards. It’s a bunch of the teachers against these pro players (like the globetrotters) where the teachers get their butts kicked, but it makes for a good show and a good school fundraiser. Jack’s assistant teacher played, and Patrick’s teachers from first and second grade played, while his teacher this year was a really good cheerleader. We took Timmy along too and he had fun, although we were back and forth to the bathroom a zillion times. Even the Principal of the school played. It was a great night but the boys were pretty done in since they left school early that day to go to the Mets opening day game with John.
More sports still to come…their first baseball game (that they played in) will posted later this week.

Happy Birthday JohnnyB
Yup, today was John’s 42nd birthday. He dosen’t get very into the whole birthday thing but he had tickets to the Mets game and took the whole crew with him (the big boys, Timmy, Uncle Nelson, Grandpa Jack & Hakka- a real boys day out). It was Timmy’s first Mets game and he was REALLY excited. I think everyone was really excited that he was going.
I sent the big boys with their cameras (and the first thing they said when they came home was "mommy, wanna see my pictures??!!"- see, they’re getting the photobug too. Honestly, I think they are just happy to be on the other side of the camera for once). They did a great job and got some cute shots. Mostly of Timmy.See, I’m not the only one who takes so many pix of Timmy! They made it to the 6th inning (which is really good for a first game, I think) when Timmy’s lips started turning blue cause it was pretty cold out (especially in the upper deck). He skipped his nap today and did pretty well, all things considered. John was even super brave and took him to Shea in underwear- and he was all dry!
Had some Carvel cake tonight for dessert. With LOTS of candles. Then John went all psycho on the cake. (Marianne, my friend, these pictures are for you!) Really, he was just cutting it, but you know his fascination with the cleaver…
