    the wol communion

Img_8162sl The first of the four communions I shot this weekend. These were for my good friend, Beth (she’s the one who was the 2nd shooter on the big wedding last month). Her son is such a cutiepie, but does this horrible fakesmilething where his top lip curves under grits his teeth and he looks a little nuts! But I did manage to get some real smiles out of him and they were SO great. Beth knew exactly what she wanted picture wise, so that made my life a little easier. We have such similar tastes when it comes to composition and always seem to pick the same locations. She’s actually the one who turned me on to Tanglewood (you know the park where I take ALL my fall pictures!). She said that she found the arches by the church first, but I know I did!

I think we had some fun, joking around. The height difference between her and her husband is always a challenge! Well, the height difference between her husband (who I went to high school with, by the way) and EVERYONE else is quite the challenge.Img_8170cbw Img_8216sl Img_8242pr Img_8253sl Img_8235sl Img_8286sl Img_8295sl  Img_8143sl

    soccer & stuff

The boys started soccer this past weekend. And although they have been doing well in practices, they are SO out of shape. It’s not just them either– all the kids playing were totally done in by the second half of the game. It’s going to be tough cause they have baseball and soccer games on the same day so thats hours of hard playing. I’m not sure how it’s going to work out. I’m not sure they’re gonna make it!Img_7097x Img_7093x Img_7117x Img_7108x Img_7122x Img_7141x Img_7142x Img_7164x Img_7166x Img_7180x

Some shots from this weekends game, including some of their friends. And Timmy too, of course!Img_7265sl Img_7268sl Storyboard Img_7262sl Img_7263sl

And in the "stuff" portion of this post:

    • Had my meeting for Timmy  and he was approved thru CPSE for OT (occupational therapy for small muscles like writing) and PT (physical therapy for large muscles like jumping) twice a week for 30 min each time. So here we go back to the "school bus place" for therapy. It’s like yesterday I was there with the big boys for the same things. I thought I would have one kid without low muscle tone. Apparently not.
    • The problem now is that they have no appointments that are close together. So now I have to bring him from 12:30-1 for PT and then OT from 2-2:30. This is a problem not only cause we have an hour to kill between appointments, but because that 2pm start is going to be ugly as it’s right smack in the middle of nap time. I don’t know if the lack of nap is going to cause him to not do well in OT. I am hoping that a new slot opens up for September that works better, but it looks like I’m stuck til then. Unless he gets approved for summer services.
    • He’s still so delicious, even with low muscle tone.
    • Speech is still up in the air. The fact that he scored in the 97th percentile for vocabulary kinda screwed up the scores. They want him retested again with a different test, but I am waiting to see when that may happen. It’s all articulation and it’s also cause of the low tone.
    • The potty training is going great and he is in underwear full time now, even at school. I’m quickly running low on new Planet Heroes (only 1 left) so we have to come up with a new reward soon. We discussed the possibility of a sticker each time he goes poop on the potty and when he has 5, we can take a trip to the bookstore for a new book. That might work.
    • Timmy rode his tricycle the whole way around the block today! Awesome! (and he really shouldn’t be able to with the whole low tone).
    • We all walked home from school today. So, so happy to see some nice weather at last. Tommorrow is supposed to be even better.
    • I read in Patrick’s class this morning and Timmy came along. He was the usual hit of the classroom and Patrick loved, loved having him there. We stayed for almost an hour just hanging out there and I think Timmy would’ve loved to stay the whole day if he could have.
    • The big boys went with John, Grandpa Jack, and Uncle George to opening day at Shea yesterday- they got pulled out of school early and everything! And even though the Mets lost they told me they had a great time. They are going again on Sunday- weather permitting- and that will be Timmy’s very first Mets game. He’s soooooo excited.

    the mck communion

Finishing up this past weekend’s communions. Another family you may recognize from pictures last year. Sat thru a whole mass (and boy, it was looooonng) for these shots and hit my new most favorite location for communion pictures. So far, no one else has found it and I haven’t had to fight for space. I am hoping it will stay that way for a few more weeks until I’m done shooting communions. So if you are reading this and going to that church for communion…stay out of my spot!! Just kidding. Kinda. the jah communion

My first of two Sunday communions. This little boy is not only the cutest, most cooperative kid…if he was faking his smiles, I couldn’t tell. He even got to bring up the gifts during mass. I was able to catch some of those shots, but you have to be really careful in the church cause they don’t want you out of your seat. Being the Jew in church is bad enough- I don’t need to be in more trouble! Although I have made friends with one of the communion directors cause I’m seeing her multiple times every weekend. And she knows my boys from religion and from their communion last year. So at least I have a little bit of an "in" there. One more communion from the weekend to edit and then another 3 coming up this weekend. Love the communion boys crazy uncles. Don’t we all have some like that? More to come soon…Img_7289x_filtered Img_7318cbw_filtered Img_7337sl Img_7347sl Img_7358mo Img_7393sl Img_7412sl Img_7422sl Img_7444x_filtered Img_7370cbw

    Strike!

Nope, not for me. But the big boys were invited to a bowling party last weekend for a friend in their grade. They had a GREAT time…especially since Jack broke 100 with a final score of 117. He was pretty pleased with himself about that. The boys have very interesting "form" while bowling. No one can tell them that the body english dosen’t help the ball go the way they want.  Here are some from that party:Img_6324sl Img_6326sl Img_6330sl Img_6331sl Img_6333sl Img_6338sl Img_6339sl Img_6341sl Img_6342sl Img_6355sl Img_6364sl Img_6365sl Img_6368sl Img_6377x

Img_6382x And since they had so much fun, they have been asking to go bowling again. So I took them and Timmy this afternoon after the 2 communions I shot. Exhausted much? But they had a great time- although Jack was pretty disapointed that he didn’t break 100 again. Timmy did, though! He had a 107. (okay, so I bowled a few frames for him at the end, but he honestly did better than I did with two spares!) That ramp thingy is a great invention. Patrick was bowling so hard, that once his ball flew into the lane next to ours and once he knocked down the bumpers! But he did well, almost beating his top ever score (in the 70’s).
