    beaches n buckets

    Img_4637sl

One of my previous clients (the O family from last summer) has started her own business selling all kinds of fun beach accessories- bags, flip flops, matching belts, headbands, etc for adults and kids, too. She asked me if I would take some pictures of her product for her website. So down to the beach we headed on Mothers Day to get some shots of all of her super cute and fun stuff. I took pictures of the product she gave me, but there is a ton of other stuff on her site. More of the pix I took are in an album on the left.

I am having a beaches n buckets party here at my house on Friday, May 30th. I sent out a ton of evites, but if you didn’t get one and you’d like to come, please send me an email and I will forward it along to you. The more, the merrier. Please don’t feel like I skipped over you, I did the "mailing" at around 1:30am and was a little punchy and the whole thing wasn’t working right. So I had to type in each email address one by one (and there were 108 evites sent!).

Please feel free to check out her website for ALL of her product and have fun shopping. The link is here: beaches n buckets.  Really, I dare you to not shop!

    superboy!

    Img_3888sl

If Timmy could read, and saw the title, he would say "don’t call me like that. i not superboy. I am SOOP-erman!!" His favorite song right now is I am Superman from REM- I put it on my ipod for him and whenever I play it, he gets that Timmy "hehehe" laugh. Even after the 5th time in a row.Img_3884sl

Big news…we took away the papis (that would be pacifiers). Well, we didn’t…the papi fairy came and took them to the little babies who didn’t have papis. And she left him $10 so he could go shopping for a new toy. I wasn’t planning on having the papi fairy show up right now, but after the Mets game on Saturday, Timmy fell asleep in the car (at 5pm!) on the way home and I couldn’t wake him up for 2 hrs! He didn’t have the papi for that long nap (he only has it in his bed for naps and bedtime) so we talked about it. We discussed how he obviously didn’t need it to sleep, and that he’s not a baby anymore (waaaaaa! says mommy) since he sleeps in a big boy bed, wears big boy underwear, goes to big boy school, etc so he probably shouldn’t have a papi anymore since he’s not a baby. Plus the fact that he makes it a point to tell everyone "i not a baby! i’m a big boy!". I asked him if he thought he was ready for the papi fairy to come and take the papis and he said yes. Could it really, really be this easy? I wasn’t hopeful.

The reason I wasn’t hopeful… two words. Jack & Patrick. When it was their turn for the papi fairy to pay a visit after much discussion about the whole deal (no more papis, papis for the babies, a new toy)… the first night they were going to bed everything seemed fine, UNTIL… they got into bed, broke out into simultaneous crying fits, and screaming "I can’t brEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEathe without it!!!" They were so addicted and were going thru withdrawl. Like crackheads. It was like this for about 3 days. Not so much.Img_3947sl

    Img_3999sl

So, things seem to be going pretty well with Timmy (I’m afraid to post it cause I don’t want to jinx it). Went to bed no problem the first night (Saturday) and slept thru til 8am. No nap on Sunday though, but he did play in his bed for an hour. Sunday he had 3 (yes 3!) accidents. I think he was so tired without the nap he just couldn’t get it together. Last night was okay. He went to bed early since he was such a total wreck (he really needed that nap!) slept til 4am and was up for half an hour looking for the damn papi. He did go back to sleep til around 7:15am. Not bad. And today, he was nowhere near napping when I put him down but he was so tired. So I told him I was going to rock him, and he fell right asleep and napped for 2hrs. With no papi. Woohoo!  Storyboard

    Happy Mothers Day, everyone!!

    Img_4635sl

Hope everyone had a great mommy day! I did (well, at least the first half!). Yesterday, John took all three boys along with Grandpa, Hakka, and Uncle Nelson to the Mets game, so I had the whole afternoon to myself. It was niiiiice. I did a ton of catch up work on the computer, a little organizing, and even went and got myself a pedicure (with massage chairs- not as good as Asela, but what can you do?) so my feet aren’t completely hideous for the wedding next weekend.

This morning, hung out and cleaned up. Then John took ALL of us to brunch at the country club- Mom & Ken, Mom & Dad, Inez & Thomas plus their whole crew, and us. Delicious as always and a fun time. Finally got all the boys in a picture together (don’t think we had a really good one since 2 yrs ago at a family Christening). We honestly did not plan the "uniform"- just worked out that way. Handsome, one & all. Got a few shots with my boys even. How nice.Img_4469cbw_filteredMy amazing inlaws, just back from a trip to Egypt (yes, really). My mother in law got me a beautiful necklace. Don’t know if you can make it out in any of the pictures, but I’m wearing it.  Img_4471x_2 Img_4473cbw

And please forgive me, but I need to insert a little mommy brag here. Timmy’s been saying "Happy Mothers Day" for about a week now, every day. So cute! He made a painted macaroni napkin holder at school with a pretty, sparkly card. John got me floor seats to The Cure (yippeeee!) at MSG next month- are you ready, Robin? Jack & Patrick made me handmade cards (my favorite!) and wrote me some poetry and writing pieces. Must share, but break out the hankies- you’re gonna need them!

    From Jack:

(a handmade card) Dear Mom: Thank you for all the good things in my life. It’s your special day, so you get to do what you want. So, you’re taking the day off. Anyway, if you need any help just ask, ok? You’re the best mom ever. Love, Jack

(a writing piece from school) My Mother: My mom has many special qualities. Here are a couple of things my mom is good at. She is a very good photographer. She even has her own business! Someday, she’ll be a professional. Another thing she is good at is cooking. She cooks the dinner every night of the school week! Also, she is an amazing Mom. I love when she lets me stay up late. She also has a great sense of taste. She goes to restaurants that are delicious! My mom is great. These are the great qualities of my mom.

    From Patrick: (two poems)

Mom, you’re so sweet. Your pictures are really neat. Mom, you’re so cool. You’re as pretty as a treasured jewel!

Mom, I would never trade you for gold. When I look at you, your face glows like an angel in the sky. I’ll always like you when time goes by. I’ll always love you even when you grow old.

Okay, how much do I love those boys??Img_4540sl

    Img_4547sl_2

Went down to the beach with my mom later on to shoot some product for beaches n buckets (more on that tommorrow) but we had a lot of fun even though it was pretty freezing and so windy. It was nice Mommy time either way. Thanks for coming along and for the help, Mom!!Img_4633sl

By the time I came back, John was all kinds of sick (puking) so he spent the rest of the day and all of tonight in bed. I feel bad for him that he’s so sick. I just hope it’s a food or medicine reaction and not a stomach virus that makes it’s ugly way thru the house- especially with the wedding next weekend. Keep a good thought on that for me, huh? And even better…John thinks he may have to have additional surgery on his back cause it’s just as bad lately as it was before the surgery. He thinks the remainder of the disc is now herniated or it’s scartissue pushing on the nerve. But he has constant shooting pain down the butt, leg, foot  just like last time. Except now it’s in both legs instead of just one. Fabulous. He is trying to get an appointment with the dr. this week and he will most likely send him for an MRI (again). I’ll keep you posted.

Anyway, Happy Mothers Day to all my mommy friends out there!

    the siv family

Went on a big adventure to Brooklyn to meet this fun family and do a shoot for them. They live literally down the block from Prospect Park so we spent the majority of our time there. Apparently, they spend a lot of time there themselves! Little Mr. S was such a smiley, happy guy and great to photograph. I was and still am impressed with mom’s upper body workout abilities- she’s in fabulous shape!! Dad was so nice and easy going and seemed very relaxed in front of the camera-perfect for me! Had to get a few at home, favorite toys included. Img_3513sl Img_3521sl Img_3530sl Img_3542sl

So many great spots in the park to capture this happy family in.Img_3559mo Img_3571sl Img_3584sl Img_3636sl Img_3646sl Img_3746sl

One of the more (ahem) interesting characters in Brooklyn. Love the hair.Img_3545x

You know I had to stop at the bridge- love the rust and the curve and the texture and the nature. Yum.Img_3670sl Img_3666sl

And a super orange wall! (When John saw these pictures he asked if this now means we have to drive into Brooklyn for pictures of our boys at the Orange Wall. He knows me so well…)Img_3753sl

And, in his element although he really wanted to get out.Img_3797sl

    the cil baby

Did a photoshoot for this adorable little family last weekend. (almost caught up…just one more weekend shoot to edit!) Had a great time with them, swapping pregnancy horror stories. Their little girl is about 3 months old and just delish! And those eyes. Those huge, take it all in, sparkly, round as saucer eyes. I dare you to look at the pictures without smiling!! Img_3235sl Img_3250sl Img_3266sl Img_3271sl Img_3295sl Img_3335cbw I just love this whole series on the white fluffy stuff..Img_3361sl Img_3366cbw Img_3378sl Img_3357sl Img_3385sl Img_3398sl Img_3404cbw Img_3453sl Img_3479sl
