the goo & tar families (+ some product shots too)
Ok, so I missed another blogging day. Sorry about that. Yesterday was nuts (what else is new) with two shoots during the day. My wonderful mother in law babysat while I shot and then took the boys to the movies. During which time I edited and took a shower. Exciting, I know. But last night I went up to Conneticut to have dinner with my college BFF, Robin (and her brother, and her brother’s girlfriend) and Joe and then we saw Brian of The Turn play at a bar in Stamford. It was a fun night and I am ridiculously exhausted, not to mention sick with a cold. Super. Tonight we are going to see Alison Moyet (lead singer of the group Yaz) at Westbury Music Fair. And then away to the ‘east house’ for part of the holiday weekend.
So, without further ado, making up for lost blogging time and posting the goo and tar families. The moms are the sisters who created and own their own business www.bcauseisaidso.com where they offer amazingly original and cute kids shirts. I’ve done lots of product work for them over the last year or so and also did photoshoots for both their families last year for holiday cards and some parties in between, so you will probably recognize them from the blog. I love my repeat clients and they are certainly no exception!
First the goo family. We shot over at Martin Viette Nursery in Muttontown where there happened to be a local TV crew filming for a pumpkin segment. The kids and mom & dad got interviewed so I had to snap a few of that. We all had a great time walking around and checking things out. They are seriously great boys.
Then the tar family arrived just in time to get some cousin shots (good for grandparents for the upcoming holidays!) and some product shots as well. Dontcha just love the new "back to school" shirts (kindergarten rock star and nursery school magna cum laude)?! Super cute.
We found some "christmasy trees" in the back of the nursery and settled in there with the tar boys looking for that elusive holiday shot. These boys are all about ACTION so getting that shot is always a challenge. But since they spent some time playing with my boys at the beach this summer and around me, they were a lot more comfortable which = better pictures. And really, how could you resist those faces??

the duck race, the sax, and the tak kids
Whew, that’s a lot for one post, no? But I gotta get everything on here as quick as possible. And god knows I gotta post some of my own stuff on her occassionally or else the boys will freak that there’s nothing about them.
Took the boys last weekend to the duck race in town for a little fun. And fun we had. They loved the bouncy slidey things, we met a snake and some frogs (WARNING: that means there are snake and frog pix below), got a baloon, missed hearing the Turn play (bummer), Jack let me take some pix of him at long last, and ate a pickle on a stick (really, is there anyother way to eat a pickle??). Yum.
Patrick has taken up the saxophone for school band this year and is loving it so far. While Jack didn’t last long with the cello last year, Patrick is sure he’s going to play for the whole year and play in both the winter and spring concerts at school. I have to admit he looks pretty cool playing it. Hopefully it will sound as good as it looks. Eventually.
And now on to the Tak kids…
I photographed this family around this time last year when the baby was just born. I was shocked seeing him this time looking so big. Yes, I know that they grow up. Fast. But I was thinking he was still going to be an infant. Dosen’t he look like he should be on his farm in Ireland, herding the sheep??
The little girl is as cute and dainty as ever. There was significantly less chasing happening this year which is always nice for me. And the smiles came so easy. Sweet!

the ond family
Well, almost the whole family. Dad was away and the pictures are also a gift for him. So Mr. O, if you are reading this stop now!
Beautiful mom is also the "flip flop lady". She owns www.beachesnbuckets.com, whose flip flops and beach accessories I have photographed and shown here on the blog. Even had a flip flop party here which was a big hit.
Love these photogenic boys. I took their pictures for the first time last fall down at the beach and found out they were nothin but boy- all action, all movement, all the time! This year, things were slightly calmer, but they are still as gorgeous as always if not more so. Not so much chasing involved this year!
They need to model. Especially the older one. He works it for the camera like no one’s business.

the bis family & the gil baby
Ok, so it’s finally come to this. Have to squish two families into one post. My friend Sharon asked me a few weeks back if I was going to be able to post everyone’s pictures in time for the holiday rush…and the answer is yes, but only if I double up here and there. While I love to and would rather give everyone their own time in the spotlight, if I need to get everyone’s pictures posted, some of you are just going to have to share! So, in no particular order here come the bis family and the new gil baby.
First, the bis family.
If mom looks vaugely familiar to you, it’s because she looks a ton like her sister (that would be the did family from July). Met them at their house on a very rainy day for a family shoot. Another gorgeous bunch (how are my clients so good looking??!!) with great, sweet, cooperative kids. We did manage to sneak in a few outside shots between the raindrops.
Can’t you just hear her giggling?
Loved the decor in the house. Which was good, cause we were inside for a lot of the shoot.
Thanks, bis family. It was such a pleasure meeting you all!

Next, on to the gil baby.
You will remember mom and dad from their last appearance on the blog as bride and groom earlier in the year. They just welcomed the newest member of their family, James aka PorkChop. This baby was so cute, and so chunky (love me some baby rolls), weighing in at 9lbs, 3oz and measuring 22.5″ at birth!!! His nickname is well deserved, no?
Mom STILL looks fantastic as always- these pictures were just 10 days after birth (c-section no less). They are both so totally enamored with this new little life. I was so glad to be there to capture him in all his tiny hugeness.
