they came, they swam, they stayed over
Our very good friends (once from town, now from Michigan) were here for their annual visit with their family and we got our day too. We spent all day yesterday together, going to the beach, watching J & P play in an away baseball game, having sushi and italian, and the kids all slept stayed over.
This year’s transition period (the boys see eachother once a year and there’s always that period of awkwardness when they first get together) was the shortest we’ve ever seen. Actually, it wasn’t there at all. Jack and Connor have been exchanging letters recently and I think that’s probably helped. They were all so excited to see eachother and got right into playing. Even Timmy and Katie jumped right in- it was like they saw eachother last week, not last summer.
My gorgeous goddaughter! Love her. I even got to comb her hair (she said I did a good job) and got unsolicited hugs.
The Z kids all spent the night here. And honestly, I couldn’t believe they stayed up as late as they did. After my boys had been up late 2x during the week, they spent the day in the ocean and the pool and played baseball or ran around in the park, I thought they would crash and hard. Nope. The little ones (Katie slept in Timmy’s room- that was Timmy’s first sleepover) stayed up until 11:30pm and the big kids were up until 12. It probably would’ve been later if I hadn’t gone up there and told them it was enough. Man, that was a lot of giggling.
And I was informed that they were all up between 6:30 and 7am this morning. Can you say bedtime by 8 tonight??
We had a great visit and I’m happy to report that we will be seeing the Z family again in 3 weeks, but this time on their turf in Michigan.

garrett & susan: the day after
First off, it’s not really the day after. It was more like two weeks after the wedding that we went and did a trash the dress shoot (without actually trashing the dress though, so no worries there). They had just gotten back from their honeymoon, still all tan and relaxed.
Ok, this rates up there with one of the best shoots. Ever.
First stop, the refurbished Nunley’s Carousel. Ahh- yummy much? Do you know that it goes pretty fast, especially when you aren’t holding on to anything cause you need both hands on your camera? (please excuse the vast number of pictures here…they were all SO awesome, I couldn’t narrow it down)
Then on to a thousand delicious little locations all around that area.
Was so happy I found a shopping cart- and even moreso that Susan was all game to hop in! Dosen’t she look like she’s in a bubble bath?
Love it all! Beautiful bride.
She’s a nurse, he is manager at the camera store I live at work with. Had to make sure that was represented.
Thanks for hanging with me again for lots more pictures. Did I mention that I LOVED this shoot?? To see all the images, please click HERE.

the abc gala
When I was asked by Tiffany to take pictures for the Atlantic Beach Club opening Gala I was really excited. I had taken pictures at ABC a few times now (including Tiffany’s son’s First Communion) and was looking forward to a wonderful evening. Which it was. Except for the bad weather, it was a great night.
Everything was beautifully decorated.
Ran into many friends (and friends of friends) over the course of the evening which is always fun and makes taking pictures all the easier.
A big thank you to Tiffany for asking me to document the evening, Annie for coordinating everything for me and always being on top of things for the shoot, and to Sue for coming along and helping out with some pictures. You ladies are the best and made my job even easier.
Some special recognition for the longest club members.
And some dancing.

the eckl family
Liz and I went to school together forever and I was so happy that she wanted me to take some pictures of her and her kids while they were back in town from their home in St. Louis. (another connection thru Facebook, of course!) Liz’s husband was unfortunately not able to join us but I’m hoping he’ll like the pictures anyway.
Liz and I talked middle school and stickerbooks. Ahhhh….memories. And I love that she whipped out her camera during the shoot to snap some of her own pictures too!
The kids are beyond gorgeous and photogenic. Apparently, they were not happy about getting their pictures taken and were a bit freaked out all morning. But as soon as we got started I think they figured out it would be fun and really had a great time despite their previous feelings.
Love the footprints in this one.
See, gorgeous!!!

the rhod baby
All you blog stalkers out there I’m sure will remember this beautiful mama and her baby bump from last month’s maternity session. Well, the baby bump isn’t a bump anymore- it’s a girl!!
A smiley girl, no less!
It’s been baby central for me lately (well, not for ME exactly–don’t get any ideas!– but for me as bsquared photography) with 4 newborn shoots all within the last two weeks.
This beauty was just delicious and sweet and didn’t cry once. And slept too! Can’t ask for more from a 2 week old.
And big brother is just as adorable and fun as always (love his shirt so!). But he didn’t want to hold his new sister. At all. So we worked around that as best we could.
Thanks so much, Rhod family. It was wonderful seeing you again and meeting your newest addition! Congratulations to you all!!
