    the abat family

Another fabulous (and new to bsquared) family who chose a beach shoot to capture their family. I think it was a great choice- they all looked quite comfortable, relaxed and happy there. And just a little gorgeous!!

The little boy was the most challenging to capture and definitely kept me on my toes- but the results were worth all the running!! She requested this picture specifically- awesome!
Showing me some mad dance moves on the right. And love the mischievious sparkle in her eyes. Perfect for the ‘keep off’ picture above.  See, so worth it!! And yes, his eyes are really that blue.  Thanks for a great shoot! You guys made it lots of fun!!

    the barro family

After doing a photoshoot for Dad’s brother last year (do you remember the Islanders room? That’s them.) this family got in touch to set up a shoot of their own. I’m so glad they did. I mean, can you just squeeze this little girl right thru the computer?!

Although mom was a little nervous, I think we pulled off the bird bath shot perfectly! Loved the dramatic lighting in this one. Someone was losing steam quickly, so we wrapped up not so long after this shot.  Great meeting all of you! Hope you enjoy your pictures.

    7 for Sunday

It’s been a good long while since I’ve done one of these- tons of client shoots to post and that always takes priority. So here I am back again with a (hopefully entertaining) 7 for Sunday.

    1. Both my boys and I didn’t have breakfast yesterday morning until 11am. Whatever, it’s summer.

    2. Been reading a ton recently, you know in my free time. Here’s a list of my newest reads:

    -The Host

    -A Dark Matter

    -Horns

    -Worst Case

-Sh*t my dad says (this one had me laughing out LOUD on the beach! Freakin hysterical!!)

    -The 9th Judgement

    -Little Bee

    -The Last Child (reading now)

    3. Timmy is known to say ‘go homey’ while getting his groove on. Gotta have the sideways hat to complete the look.

I bet you just cracked up!

    4. I have two shoots today- one in Rye, one in East Hampton. Will be well aquainted with the car after today, huh? Syncing and charging the ipod now.

    5. I know I still have a number of clients waiting for their shoots- up this week will be the ‘barro’ family, the ‘abat’ family, hewitt graduation, and I’m hoping to get Miss J’s bat mitzvah up too. I have dropped down to 10 shoot to be edited, from the 23 I was behind before. So, I’m making progress. Just wish I was making more.

    6. Been a busy movie viewing summer- already saw The Karate Kid, Toy Story 3, Eclipse, and Despicable Me. Loved them all. And yes, I do realize they are all kid movies. No one ever said I was a grown up.

    7. I purposely scheduled no shoots yesterday as it was the date for our town’s big fireworks celebration. However, due to a rainy forecast (where no rain actually developed) they moved them to tonight and I won’t be able to make it. So bummed I’ll miss it. This is the first time in about 8 years I will be missing it but John and my parents will go with the boys. Sometimes working on the weekends isn’t my favorite.

Hope everyone enjoys the last of their weekend today.

    the magn family

This family was brand new to bsquared photography, and I’m so glad they found me. They were so very, very nice and fun to work with, with an adorable and very spunky little girl. We ran (and I do mean ran) all over the park and finished up with some shots outside their home.

I loved how happy mom and dad were. And as it turns out, dad was on that plane that crash landed in the Hudson River. So glad he (and everyone else on board) is okay and still here with us!! See what I mean about spunky?! Thanks for letting me capture some of your day, sharing your stories and your smiles with me!

    jack & patrick graduate

Ok, so obviously this happened a while ago but I am still so far behind (like I haven’t even touched the pictures from our trip to Jamaica in May yet!) so I figured I should post these before they start Middle School in September!

Still cannot belive that they are done with elementary school and will be heading off to Middle School in the fall. And that they will be 11 this summer. How did any of this happen?? They are some good looking kids (if I do say so myself!) And oh my god- I can see how they will look when they graduate Harvard in this picture!! (yeah, really have to book more shoots if they are going Ivy League!) Although, they are still leaning toward Georgetown (Patrick) and Boston College (Jack) at this point.

Receiving their Presidential awards for Academic Achievement. So proud of them, and I think they were pretty proud of themselves too!! Patrick also won the Math Olympiads award for highest scorer for 5th grade. (before his haircut!) And some friends from school (really whoever I could grab on the way out the last day!)  Patrick and Mrs. Glass, Jack and Ms. Linker. We lucked out with the teachers this year. They were both so wonderful and really pushed the boys to do their best! The whole 5th grade was “clapped out” by all the other students in the school. Such a great end to their time at school! To any school parents who are checking the blog and waiting for graduation pictures that I took- hang in there, I’m working on them! Just trying to edit shoots in the order in which I took them. Another week or so, I think.
