    mothers day 2012

I had a great day last weekend for Mothers Day. We went to brunch (yum, soooo good!) at Hempstead with our whole family, my inlaws, my parents (my dad was finally feeling better and well enough to go!), and Joe, Gail, James & Quinn. The boys and John got me some great cards (some handmade- my favorite!), a gift certificate for a massage at the Garden City Hotel, and a new Coach bag & wallet. My mom bought me a super cute Mickey bag.

It was an awesome family day and I was feeling really grateful all day. Just brought along the little camera, but that thing definitely gets the job done.

The boys wore some pink just for me.

And for those of you playing along at home, my newest nephew (born to Joe and Gail yesterday morning) Joseph Rothwell made his debut weighing in at 8lbs, 6oz and everyone is doing great. So that is 9 grandchildren/cousins. And 9 boys. It’s kinda like Ferris Bueller- “nine times” .  Pictures soon- I’m hoping to get to see him next week. Congrats to Joe, Gail, James & Quinn!!

    peter’s first communion

A fantastic family and a break in the rain for a little bit made for a fantastic communion session for this very handsome little man.

You blog stalkers out there are sure to recognize the whole family from lots of previous sessions and the Education Foundation gala. And my favorite from the session…

    royals baseball vs. wb crush

Taking a break from the communion photos for a day and posting pictures from the most recent RVC Royals game. Unfortunately, they lost both games but they played well and finally started to keep their spirits up even when they were not doing great score wise.

Just a note- the sun was in and out so my exposures are all over the place. A sports photographer I am not, but I’m working on improving. I feel like I have to be able to look out of both eyes in different directions at the same time. So not happening.

And communions resume tomorrow. See you back here then.

    lily’s first communion

Very, very longtime family friends I was so excited when mom asked me to photograph their daughter’s communion! We see eachother often, but I was thrilled to take some real pictures of her family this time- especially for such a great occasion! Lily was a little slow to warm up to the whole photography process, but once she did, she was asking me for more pictures. Love that!

More of the rain on this day, but thankfully they had a big white tent in the backyard with lots of bright and pretty color plants and decorations for the party to brighten things up a bit. And you kind of tend to ignore the weather with a smile like this one.

Gorgeous mommy, gorgeous daughter.Snow White much?Hope your party was wonderful and that you had some nicer weather by the afternoon. xoxo

    collin & owen’s communion

I’ve lost count how many times I’ve photographed this amazing family but I thoroughly enjoy every single session we have together. Mom is one of my most loyal and awesome blog stalkers who I just adore. And the boys are just delish- and identical twins! On a day that was forecasted to be sunny and nice, it was pouring and miserable. We had a like 5 feet of space to do the shoot in, but we made it work.

A big thank you goes out to my photografriend Charles for assisting me all day this day with umbrella holding, gear packing, and just generally being awesome and proactive and keeping me on time. And with me with my “just one more” that keeping me on schedule thing is much harder than one would think.
