eric & aine get engaged- the portraits

First, i apologize for the misspelling of aine’s name (not ania, although that’s how it’s pronounced). Second, here’s the next (and last installment) of their proposal/engagement session. We hit up a few special spots on campus to take some portraits of the really-newly engaged couple. They are so happy and in love, it didn’t take much to pose them- they did it pretty much all on their own. Lots of snuggles and giggles and kisses and a little dancing thrown in for good measure. And the fact it said “…with joy…” right by them at the fountain where they sat is a perfect coincidence that i loved! Congratulations again to this gorgeous couple!! Help me wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!

and an extra thank you to the hubs who drove me up to Fordham (ya know, the “real” Fordham where he went for his bachelor’s degree as opposed to the “fake” Fordham where I went (lincoln center) for my masters degree), gave me a tour around campus and let me take pictures of him so i could pretend i wasn’t waiting for them to walk over!

    eric & ania get engaged!

Eric reached out to me when he had his proposal to his girlfriend all set up (I’m telling you- he was the pillar of organization and thorough information- I loved that!!) at Fordham University. Being that’s where they met and spent a lot of time together, it was the perfect place to propose. Ania was so, so surprised which was wonderful. And then she said yes! They were so happy and sweet and fun! The parents were even there to celebrate their engagement and watch it all unfold. Here’s a few shots of the actual proposal- the portraits we took afterwards are up next so stay tuned…

    the conl family

Starting off posting from 2022 sessions with this awesome, longtime bsquared family who is photogenic and beachy. Wow, how i miss the beach!! And warm weather. And shoots outside. Spring and summer can’t come soon enough. Love watching this family grow up and it’s my pleasure to photograph them every year. I can’t wait to see where we go this year, but please enjoy some highlights from their session (and christmas cards).

    rosa’s 80th birthday

Now that’s a birthday worth celebrating BIG! My friend/pilates instructor/massage therapist Denise and her siblings put together a great birthday party for their mom with family in from all over the country to help celebrate. Since many family members live out of state, they haven’t been together in a really long time because of covid. So not only was it a celebration of Rosa, it was a celebration of family. I was invited to stay for dinner (omg, such good food!) and hang out with the family and Denise said she was proud that I “survived” my first Dominican party. Not only did I survive, I had so much fun! And I made her promise to do some Salsa with her awesome hubby for me- which they did. That was awesome! Wishing Rosa the happiest 80th birthday. And I’m so glad no one beat me with their chancleta.

ava & friends at the mercy ball

It was a very busy photography day for me during the Mercy Ball- this was the second pre-ball party I shot that day for my friend and longtime client Kelly & Ava. I just wanted to say thank you to the other Ava’s parents who hosted the party and for the stepladder they let me borrow. It had been rainy and raw the whole day but we did luck out with a break in the rain/drizzle for some outdoor pictures on their beautiful wrap-around front porch. Hope this crew had a fabulous time at the ball, too!
