andreya & mike- first look and portraits

Continuing on with Andreya & Mike’s amazing wedding at the Lands End in Sayville, they opted for a first look (where the bride and groom see each other before the walk down the aisle) which made me beyond thrilled as it gives the bride & groom a really special moment together. And gave us some extra time for photos as well so we don’t have to cut into the whole cocktail hour for formal portraits.

First showing you the whole wedding party!

Now onto the first look. Mike was waiting patiently with his back turned so he wouldn’t see Andreya until THE moment. (working with Kate, we’re able to catch both sides of the first look)So ready to get married! But first we got all of the formal portraits done. Next up, the ceremony. Stay tuned!

    andreya & mike- getting ready

I had the pleasure and honor of photographing Andreya & Mike’s amazing wedding a few weeks ago, and I’m pleased to begin bringing you some of their pictures today. They just arrived home from their honeymoon yesterday, so I’m hoping that posting some of the pictures from their special day will lessen the blow of heading back to work after a long while off!

Handsome and gorgeous! (and a thank you to my fabulous second shooter Kate for covering the “boys” getting ready).

Andreya and her girls were getting ready in one room, while Mike and the boys were elsewhere in the hotel getting their wedding on. Andreya’s dad sent in the ipod with a special song for his daughter that had everyone in tears.

What’s that line from Steel Magnolias? Something about laughter thru tears?I think Andreya would be okay with Mike kissing only this someone else on their wedding day.The gorgeous dress and sisters helping with the garter with mom looking on. Tried a little different editing here- think it goes great with the picture.Andreya had all the girls sign her shoes. Seeing Andreya in full bride-ness started the waterworks all over again!Father of the groom. Ultimate coolness.Stephanie and Jen were the go-betweens for the gifts the bride and groom bought for eachother.
A guitar for Mike.A diamond bracelet for Andreya. And then more tears when Dad came in to see his little girl for the first time. Thought this shot had a Mad Men type of feel to it. Cheers to the bride & groom. Now let’s go get married!Up next- first look and portraits. Give me a few days and those will be on the blog next.

    diane & henry- the reception

Kinda sad to be coming to the end of Diane & Henry’s wedding. I had so much fun shooting & editing it that I don’t really want it to be over!

Spent a short time at the reception- just enough time to get in the grand entrances, the toasts, the cake, a few outside shots and the dancing!!

I love my clients!!! Dancing into the reception. First dance.Sisters. A little Tebowing. Toasts. Bethanne was poised and her toast was amazing.
Adam’s toast was so funny and totally full of love! And a little off camera flash outside. What I’ve been working on lately- starting to come together.Thank you so much Diane & Henry for letting me (and Kate) capture your day. It was so wonderful from beginning to end and you were both such a pleasure to work with! Wishing you years of love and happiness always!

    diane & henry- the portraits

More from Diane & Henry’s fantastic wedding earlier this month. My favorite part of shooting a wedding is the portraits both formal and fun. (but ask me on another day what my favorite part is and that may change!) But how can you not love capturing moments like these?

Love this one from Kate.A little behind the scenes look. It was fffffreeezing outside- I lent Diane my coat. Looks nice with the gown, huh?How cute are these guys?Henry’s family.Diane’s family. All the kids. Two more from Kate. Love the little guy and his tear. So sad but pulling out the smile anyway. What a trooper!! (He had fallen down while running around before the pictures.)
I do have a version of this one without the bridal attendant in it, so just ignore that part.

    diane & henry- the ceremony

Because I just ran out of time to blog yesterday, I’m giving you an extra large blog post today.

After the first look, it was time for Diane & Henry to get married. The beautiful ceremony was held in the Historical Chapel in Woodbury which is the cutest church ever. Keith, the officiant, besides being the nicest man, gave Diane & Henry a wonderful, personal ceremony that everyone really enjoyed.

The wedding party making their grand entrance. The cutest little ring bearer!!Toddling down the aisle. Love the short pants, too!Everyone enjoying the toddling! The bride and her brother. So excited and smiley! The big hand off.Getting married!Possibly a scary part of the ceremony? A few from Kate. My angle.Getting ready for the flower petal ambush.

    And they’re married!!

Off to edit the portraits and the reception. More photos as soon as I can. Hope you enjoyed today’s post.
