the boys & the turn
So ever since I started working with the band, the big boys have been on me about taking them to see them play. Now that they are playing mostly clubs (no more colleges for now), I can’t exactly bring them to a bar. So I asked the guys if they would mind if I brought the boys to a practice. Thankfully (and really, they are all so nice) they said yes so we went over tonight quick. We earplugged up, and good thing too cause it was LOUD with all that equipment in that little room and only got in about 15 minutes before we had to go. I had to make it for scrapbook class. They really dug it (even though we only got to hear one full song plus Lance & Pat jamming a bit beforehand) although they don’t look it in the pictures. Even with the earplugs I think they were surprised just how loud it really was. So they look bored, but they were just trying to cover their ears even more. They were a bit dissapointed that there was no singing (just instruments) at the practice, but they were impressed. In fact, John told me that the whole way home in the car and for about an hour after Jack was just going on and on about the whole thing. After a while Patrick had had enough and said "okay, we get it. you reeeeeeally liked the band." Well, I do too.

Itchy or B*tchy?
Which one sounds better to you? None? Me neither. But today it was b*tchy. Let me explain…
I have terrible allergies. I am allergic to spring. Yes, the whole season and it really was bad today. The only thing that works and takes away all the symptoms (itchy eyes, itchy everywhere, sneezing, etc) is Benadryl. I’ve tried a thousand other things too but really Benadryl is the only one that even comes close. There is a major downside to this however. Benadryl turns me into 1. a zombie. 2. a total b*tch. So I had to take one today at around 11:15am after being outside most of the morning. By 1:50pm, I literally fell asleep at the computer with my hands on the keyboard and everything. Totally sleeping. Only for a few minutes until I woke up, set the timer on the oven for an hour, and crashed out HARD on the couch until 3:15. Then the b*tchy part began. I just feel all stoned and tired and crabby cause all I want to do is sleep. So I tried to keep the b*tchiness at a minimum, but it was still there, lurking under the layers of Benadryl. Other moms were passing me by on the sidewalk outside of school like I was walking backwards. Cannot move quickly when on Benadryl. Can’t function. But at least I wasn’t itchy.
In other news today, Timmy had two playdates today- morning with Jack and afternoon with Olivia. He was very happy. After Jack left, we spent more time outside and he blew us some bubbles. May I just say that he’s delicious and that I love my camera? You can even see the reflection of the house in one of the bubbles! Sorry for the overload of pix, they were just too cute not to post them all!
Patrick has lost yet another tooth yesterday. Thank god ONE came in on the top at last. So now he has 3 missing on the top. Jack also only has one in on the top. I think they are going to be toothless forever. Seriously. It’s been SO LONG for these teeth to come in. They better come in pin straight after all this waiting! Pictures of the big boys are coming. I took a ton at the communion we were all invited to last weekend (where I also worked a little). I even somehow got a few of Patrick smiling with his mouth open!
Tonight, I went to a Teacher Appreciation dinner for Timmy’s school. It was a lot of fun! Went with Sharon (thanks for driving!) and we both won a raffle prize. Still trying to
encourage herguilt her into going back to this school for Olivia next year. Even the kids teacher was trying to convince her. Poor girl- she had it hard from two Jews. There’s really no escaping that! She got a few gift certificates to restaurants in town with some wine, and I got a really cute accessories basket with earrings, bracelet, a belt and a super cute orange bag and a gift certificate. I usually don’t win ANYTHING (okay, I know I probably can’t say that anymore after the whole Cinderella Castle Suite thing- but really, it was my mother in law who technically won) so that helped make the night even better. Prizes are good.Tommorrow night I’m heading into NYC to shoot The Turn at a show at Crash Mansion. Nelson is going to meet me so that should be a lot of fun. I get to watch him cook, he gets to watch me shoot. Fair deal, right? Now if he would just cook again HERE, that would be much better. I must remember to bring the earplugs this time (again, not because the music is bad–I love the band and I think they totally rock– but because I’m RIGHT in front of the speakers and they are deafening). I’m gonna have to skip the Benadryl though tommorrow cause I can just see falling asleep on the train and ending up in the WestSide Yard for the night. Not so much how I would like to spend my night. Gonna have to catch up with LOST on Friday night on the puter after the kids go to bed.
So that’s life here over the last few days. Still have two shoots to edit, then 6 between now and the end of this weekend. Busy, busy.

timmy & jack
The two of them have been inseperable lately. They are always asking for eachother for playdates. It’s very cute. And they have a ton of fun together (and so do the mommies, so that’s just an added bonus)! BFF’s! Here they are from last week’s playdate. Water in the sink with lots of cups and bowls & the cutest pirates ever.

another day with friends
is why I love vacation. All the boys are off this week from school for Spring Break and we are making the most of it with visits. Today my friend Sharon came over with her two kids- Miss O who is Timmy’s best girl (O says Timmy’s gonna marry her with a "marrying ring" but he disagrees most of the time. Dosen’t mean he loves her less though) and little Mr. G. He’s getting so big! My boys were ALL OVER HIM (sorry Sharon) but only with love. Timmy was reading books to him, Jack & Patrick were squishin him up with lovin. Poor kid.
Took a few quick shots of him on the way out in his carseat today (mostly cause Sharon has admitted to not really taking many pictures of him- WHAT!!??). And I got the first smile caught on camera! Woohoo! A cutie pie for sure, this one.
Then spent part of the afternoon at the beach with Jen and her two boys. It was so gorgeous out (like 80 degrees) and we had a great time. And to top it all off… Greys was on and so was LOST! And LOST rocked tonight. Holy crap- that’s a great show. And I love that it’s on at 10 now- makes life much easier and I’m not throwing the boys in bed and running downstairs. Can’t wait til next week to see what happens.

another day outeast {this time, with friends}
I invited my friend Jen and her two boys to join us for the day outeast on Tuesday. There were a bunch of locations that I wanted to go back to see (read: to take pictures of the boys in) so I thought it would be fun if we all went. Jen is even more anal than I am (hard to believe, I know. But I think that’s one of the reasons we get along SO well), but she broke out of her schedule and we spent the whole day out there. And boy(s), we had lots of fun. (Jack & Patrick get photo credits of the pix of Jen & me, and the ones of Timmy & me).
Left home around 10 and made it to the easthouse around 11:15. I didn’t have a key, so really it was just someplace to stop. We went to the park across the street for about 1/2 an hour. Love that they have the old kind of carousel at the park– I think it might be the only one around still. I tried so hard to get Patrick up in the tree for some pictures but we couldn’t do it. He’s so heavy and everytime I lifted him, he started laughing, so I started laughing and had to drop him. Good thing it’s all sand on the ground.
Jack wasn’t happy with me "putting his life at risk" making him take a picture in the middle of the street. Nevermind that a car only comes by once every hour or so.
Drove from the park out to Greenport and had lunch at the Coronet- my favorite luncheonette. It’s a total throwback to the 50’s/60’s which I just LOVE. Not only was the food delish, but I decided to order a chocolate milkshake. Oh. My. God. It was melted chocolate icecream in a cup. Fantastic! The boys decided they had to have one too and not only finished off theirs, but mine too! I thought their heads were going to implode from trying to get the milkshake up the straw.
After lunch we walked around Greenport and of course made a stop in the toystore where they sell all kinds of rubberduckies. Everyone got a few. We went for a ride on the carousel and I even caught a ring for Timmy. He liked that a lot. It was an absolutely gorgeous day so we walked out onto the "lawn" area for some more running and jumping.
A little "stroller derby". We then headed to the eastbeach for some sightseeing and rock throwing.
Patrick even found a ladybug on the jetty, but it must’ve been a really smart bug cause it flew away before Timmy could "pop it". All was perfect UNTIL….Michael (Jen’s smallest one) decided it would be a good idea to go IN the water. And I mean in (under). Poor kid was in total shock from the freezing cold water and I saw Jen fly in after him. He was fine once he had some dry clothes on. Crazy man! Jen left after that. We stuck around for a little longer and then drove by the easthouse to use the "peepee tree" to have a potty break. All the boys did. Funny!
Hit a farm on the way home- couldn’t resist the red barn. And the chairs. I had to munch pretzels the whole way home so I didn’t fall asleep at the wheel. And Timmy didn’t nap at all the whole day!
All the boys were so great the whole day and told me they had so much fun and can’t wait to do it again. And when I asked Timmy what his favorite part of the day was, he said….the peepee tree! Such a boy.
