z & a’s 40 (and fabulous) birthday dinner
Before I write anything else, I just wanted to point out that they are, in fact, identical twins. I am saying this because a few months back a blog stalker to whom I am related (no names- mom) saw Andrea’s pictures on the blog at her son’s communion. This person (mom) then called me and said “hey, that girl on the blog is so pretty and looks so much like zoraida!” Ummm, yeah. That might be because she is Zoraida’s identical twin? Just sayin, mom.
Anyway, the sisters celebrated their fabulous 40th birthday party at Besito mexican restaurant in Huntington with a dinner for family. Had to squeeze in a teeny tiny shoot for the birthday girls in all their birthday awesomeness.
What are you girls up to? Especially you Z- what’s with the knife??
Totally fabulous! Rawr.
Some of the family.
Thanks for asking me to come and take some pictures at your party. You girls are seriously great and I wish you the happiest 40th year!

nancy & jesse- part 4 {the reception}
Working til around 2:30am last night (or this morning, depending on how you look at it) when an uploading glitch forced me to go to bed since I couldn’t do any more work. But I finally finished this afternoon, so here’s the last of the wedding.
A big thanks to Sue who second shot the wedding with me. It was our first time working together and it went really well.
Not just because I like things in order, I love putting the reception up last in a wedding series of posts. Everyone has let their hair down so to speak, and is ready for some fun and silliness.
First, there was the big entrance with the first introduction as husband and wife…
And the first dance.
Then the speeches, eliciting a bunch of laughs and tears. For everyone. Followed by some bubbles in lieu of champagne. Still so bubbly!
Then, time to partay!
This little man was all about the dancing. And so was the bridesman. Alllll about the dancing.
The bouquet toss. Guess who caught it (she seriously came out of nowhere!)
Finally, a little cake (loved the polka dots!)
And a bit more dancing and smooching to close out the perfect day.
Thanks so much Nancy and Jesse for letting me capture your day. I hope you are always as happy as you were at your wedding!

bzzzzz…..
Hear that? It’s the sound of the school spelling bee.
While Patrick didn’t make it in to the final 9 (3 kids from each of the 5th grade classes. And there will be a whole post on Patrick and his woes of late coming soon), Jack did and finished the bee in 4th place. He was seriously dissapointed in what he felt was his lackluster performance, but I was pretty proud anyway. His killer word was monopolize and he missed a few letters but told me after that he didn’t like everyone staring at him and it made him nervous and unfocused.
The boy who won is in the black shirt and shorts. He’s going to the Nassau Co semi finals. Very exciting!! Go S!
I think all the bee-ers did an outstanding job. And Jack can now spell adjudicate, cajolery, omniscient, and aggrandize with the best of them (and I can too, after studying with him!).

the pers baby
My first newborn shoot of 2010, and it was a great one to start with.
This little girl is 5.5 weeks old, so even though we missed the first two week window that I like to shoot in (that was my fault cause I was away on vacation when she was in the window), we did get some great wide awake shots.
With smiles even!
Lovin the chub!!
We tried and tried tummy time but to no avail. Except this one picture (and it was so perfect, it was enough). And nothing like a mommy shoulder to get some naptime in.
Thanks for a really fun morning (with lots of smiles) baby N. Hope you enjoy your pictures!

nancy & jesse- part 3 {the portraits}
Thanks for being patient (yet again) while I worked on this batch.
It was a rainy day so all shots had to be done inside in a pretty small area near the windows (you know I love my natural light) but we pulled it off, and I think pretty well!
The wedding party looking pretty fierce!
Groom and his parents (love the tears in their eyes). Don’t worry, I got a few tear-free.
The bride and groom got sneak peek of their reception and I tagged along.
The bride’s father passed a while back, but he was there on the wedding day in more ways than one.
You guys are just fabulous! Candids are always my favorite but the posed ones rock pretty hard too.
Reception up next- in a day or two.
