This & That (sorry, no catchy titles today)

Been a busy few days around here. Just trying to get my act together before the big trip to Disney. So here’s a list (my favorite thing) of some tidbits.

-John officially has a herniated disc in his lower back. He has had a LOT of pain and finally went to the chiropractor, who sent him for an MRI, who referred him to a neurosurgeon, who conferred with a pain management doctor, who decided that he should get an epidural steriod injection. That happened today. So hopefully it will work on shrinking the huge disc a little and make John a little less miserable. Plus he got a prescription of about 100 percoset. So if nothing else, that should keep him happy at Disney. Img_6156sl Img_8716x

-I bought some new sneakers for myself (finally) today. I needed better shoes – real walking ones- especially for the Disney trip. Gonna try to keep the tendonitis in check anyway I can. While at the store, I picked up some new VERY BADLY NEEDED sneakers for the big boys. They loved them! That’s a big deal cause lately they haven’t liked anything I’ve picked out. I did buy the wrong size but we went back to the store after school and exchanged them for a size 3. (wow, that’s getting big!) If the boys are making odd faces in the pictures holding their old sneakers, it’s cause on top of being trashed, they stink! Can you believe that the "old ones" are only about 4 months old and they look that bad.  Img_8689s Img_8691s Img_8697s Img_8699x Img_8714sl Img_8715s

    – Timmy had "blue day" today at school. Even had blue cookies for snack. Unfortunately, his teacher informed me that he had a hard day today- pushing and hitting. I was not pleased and he knew it. Well, he’s off school for a week now so I will have to remind him that hands are not for hurting when he goes back again.Img_8701s Img_8708sl

-still haven’t packed a stitch for Disney. Doing that Saturday. We leave Sunday morning. Whatever.

-I have two more shoots to do before we leave. One tommorrow (a wedding) and one Saturday morning (a first birthday shoot). I will try to post at least a few favorites from those before I go. Gotta empty the flash card before I leave anyway.

-Lost started again today and that makes me SO HAPPY. Felt like I missed my "friends" from the show for far too long. And to top it off, American History X is on tonight too. (I have a HUGE crush on Edward Norton. HUGE.)Lost Ednor Ednor2

    the disney 2007 scrapbook

I promised myself that I would get the Feb 2007 Disney trip scrapbooked before leaving for this year’s February trip-which is happening in 5 days!! And I did it! I really didn’t think it was going to happen, but I somehow managed it.  And if I wasn’t excited enough already to go "home to Disney" on Sunday, now I can hardly even wait! Seeing all the fun stuff from last year just makes we want to go RIGHT NOW. And not come back ever. Do you think they’ll let me move into the Cinderella Castle Suite permenently??

For the very, very few of you who don’t know, we won the overnight stay in Cinderella’s Castle Suite last February (it was actually my mother in law who was the winner, but she took us all along for the ride. I always knew I loved her!). Really, the best experience EVER. The whole story is in the scrapbook, but is really long to type out here. You can kinda figure it all out from the pictures. We won coming off the Jungle Cruise at around 10:30am on February 26th, 2007. I love the whole Year of a Million Dreams thing. Maybe we can win again this year….. (well, one can hope, right?)

I took some ideas from Ali Edwards travel journal (one of my favorite scrapbookers- she is so super talented). The book itself and some of the pre-printed pages are from Lisa Bearnson’s Kit of the Month from September. It’s a great little book (didn’t really want to do a full 12×12 album) and the rubons and other embellishments it comes with are so fun. I bought the kit just for the Disney trip but I have so much good stuff left over I can definitely use it for other projects. My favorite thing in scrapbooking lately is making different sized pages in the books- it really looks good and I think it’s just more fun to look thru. I tried to incorporate lots of the "stuff" from the trip in the Disney book- punching holes in it and sticking right into the book makes me happy. So easy and I get the whole not all one size thing accomplished. There are some shots of the details on a few of the pages too. a newborn shoot

Sunday morning I had a newborn session (one of my most favorite types of shoots) with the "man" family. The baby girl is only 2weeks old. She was cute and squishy and so new. And awake!! A lot. With a full head of hair. She really didn’t stay smooshed up for very long, she liked stretching out instead. Mom & Dad were so relaxed and easy going with me moving around their baby and dismantling parts of the house to get the shots I wanted. Hope you think it was worth it! And dad was an excellent blanket holder. Are your arms tired today? Their other baby is their dog, Bruiser…and the name couldn’t be farther from the truth. He was a big old mush and I had to get a few shots of him too. Img_8055slImg_8069sl_3 Img_8100x Img_8138sl Img_8172sl Img_8184sl Img_8189cbw  Img_8062pr Img_8212

    the arg christening

Had this shoot (and one other that I am working on now) earlier today for my friend M and her family. They were celebrating their baby’s christening today. One of the baby’s godmothers is from Italy and will be returning home shortly, so I wanted to get the pictures done right away so she could get a chance to have them before she left. I just loved listening to many of the family members speak in Italian- it’s my most favorite language to listen to. I don’t understand much (ok, hardly any) but I just love the way it sounds!

The baby was so beautiful in her dress, and is such a happy little girl. She has filled out so much since the last time I saw her for her newborn and christmas shoot. So smiley and cute. And her older sister is as gorgeous as ever and such a good subject. It helps when the whole family is so good looking. And on top of all those good looks, they are all so sweet. I was offered cakes, cookies, and champagne. (those Italians and us Jews have a lot in common with the pushing people to eat). Didn’t have the desserts as I am working so hard to do well on this week’s weigh in, and didn’t have the champagne as I didn’t want their pictures to be crooked and blurry. But thanks for offering!!

Took a few shots at the church as some of the family wasn’t able to make it to the house beforehand.

    Hope you love the pictures.Img_8229pr85 Img_8263sl Img_8307pr Img_8322sl Img_8339sl Img_8359sl Img_8402sl Img_8429sl Img_8442sl Img_8475pr Img_8452sl Img_8458sl Img_8500sl Img_8503cbw Img_8516sl Img_8555x Img_8568sl Img_8574mids Img_8597x Img_8225cbw

    to infinity….and beyond!

For a little while, Timmy was off the Buzz Lightyear/Toy Story kick. But now it’s back on at full force. I guess he’s gearing up for our Disney trip next week (notice the Mickey sweater?). He’s back to asking to watch Toy Story or Toy Story 2 at least twice a day and all the Toy Story toys have been going into the crib with him every night. He loves his Buzz. My favorite thing is:

    "mommy, close his eyes closed"

This does not have anything to do with Buzz’s eyes however. In Toy Story, Woody and Buzz are arguing about whether or not Buzz can fly. "can" "can’t" "can" "can’t". Buzz says "I can fly around this room with my eyes closed!"- and out pop his wings. So now everytime Buzz’s wings break or Timmy wants them closed he calls them "his eyes closed". Pretty cute and very amusing.

Timmy is super excited to ride on the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disney and to see Buzz in person again. He keeps telling me that he is dressing up in his Buzz costume in the park. I think I’m gonna have to let him. Img_8008sl Img_8022sl Img_8023sl Img_8025sl Img_8026sl

And in other news… I spent the majority of the day ignoring the kids scrapbooking the Disney trip from last year. I am almost done with it and it will be completed by Monday. Just waiting to get a few more pictures printed up at the camera store. So excited- it looks great! I actually accomplished my goal of getting it done before the next Disney trip. Woohoo! I will post it when it’s all done.

Two shoots tommorrow, so there should be lots of new stuff to look at on the blog this week. Catch ya later!
