caren & tim’s jamaican wedding- after the ceremony

So, inbetween the ceremony and the reception we took a little time out for some portraits of the bridal party (including parents of course, and the entire cast of guests there) right there on the beach. It was amazing to me how quickly the light changed and how different the pictures looked just within the space of a few minutes.

Since I’m posting this so late in the day, not going to take more time for the narrative (and you got the best story from the wedding yesterday anyway where I dropped the wedding ring off the second story balcony!) so sit back and enjoy. There’s a lot.

caren & tim’s jamaican wedding- the ceremony

Can’t get much more ‘destination wedding on the beach’ than this. The ceremony was on the beach. Like at the water’s edge. Fabulous!!

And just as an aside- are you following the news and the craziness going on in Jamaica right now?? Wow, talk about timing. So glad we aren’t there for the wedding now!!

Tim had to turn backwards until Caren was ready to walk down the aisle. He did look pretty excited though, huh?

Told you the hat would be making many appearances throughout the wedding festivities.

It’s official!! Congrats you two. Love that you are SO in love!

Lots more pictures to come. Working on the ‘after the ceremony but before the reception’ shots now. Be on the lookout!!

caren & tim’s jamaican wedding- getting ready

2 hours and counting from the big event. Or so we all thought! Hair and makeup getting done, a few cocktails to calm nerves, dresses being put on, boys getting dressed. And it’s on, baby!

    Beautiful, beautiful glowy bride.

And lovely bridesmaids, all in a row.

Here are the rings, one of which I accidentally dropped off the second story balcony into the grass below. Yes, you read that right. It rolled right off the flower, onto the table and right off the balcony between the slats. Freaking out? Yeah, just a little! I saw it land and RAAAAAN downstairs to go get it. It was a little dicey for a few minutes cause I couldn’t find it where I had thought it landed. But thank god, I did find it and brought it back upstairs to the bridal suite all in one piece. It took a good 30 minutes for my heart to stop racing however. And my palms are sweating again just writing this!

It started pouring (really like monsooning) just a very short while before the wedding was scheduled to begin. And the wedding was pushed back about an hour. But they don’t tell you that. They just keep you on hold in the bridal suite, waiting for the phone to ring and for them to tell you it’s time. As the bride said–‘this is bordering on cruel’.

In the meantime I went and found the boys and the rest of the wedding party getting their flowers and hanging out undercover. Oh, and you’ll see the bride’s dad’s new hat make quite a few appearances throughout the wedding pictures.

    The handsome groom. Waiting too.

Once we got ‘the call’ and we were on our way to the ceremony (very exiting!) I somehow lost one (yup, just one) flip flop. Couldn’t find it anywhere and neither could the search party I sent out later. Oh well, its a small price to pay for the whole trip to Jamaica.

    Ceremony next…

    caren & tim’s jamaican wedding-the rehearsal dinner

Finally, starting to get the wedding pictures edited and bloggable.

For the few of you who don’t know, Caren & Tim asked me to shoot their wedding in Jamiaca (and no, not in Queens. The actual island!)  More on that in the upcoming posts from the wedding- and there will be quite a few of those!

Just starting with the rehearsal dinner today, where everyone got together to begin the celebrations and a lot of guests got to meet eachother for the first time. Since everyone was travelling from all over and the bride and groom have family and friends from, like, everywhere (Canada, Chicago, New York, etc) it was a nice way to start things off.

It was pouring the evening of the dinner (as it poured every day we were in Jamaica- except one. But only for a little while each day.) So we mainly just stuck to being inside the restaurant- but there was lots of fun and happiness in there anyway!

Coming up next… getting ready for the ceremony. Tune in soon for those.

  • bsquared business

everybody, this is my assistant Jane…

    Jane, this is….everyone.

Jane is bsquared’s newest assistant and has been a huge help already. Some of you have received emails from Jane (sent from my other email address that we can both use bsquaredphotographyny@yahoo.com ) and many of you will be hearing from her in the upcoming weeks. Jane’s been a great help picking up orders, packing orders, emailing bsquared clients, organizing files, etc. I’m so happy to have her on board- leaving me more time to edit!! Which I really, really need.

Oh, and 5 extra points to anyone who can guess which 80’s movie I got the title and opening line to this blog post from (name of course is different, and substitute assistant for boyfriend)

Hope you all have a great Sunday! I’m off to 5 shoots, weather permitting.
