a carnival? for my birthday?
Not exactly. But I wanted to post something cheery on this otherwise dismal anniversary of 9/11. Which also happens to be my birthday.
Some shots from the annual carnival at our beach club.

Wheeeeeeeeee!
Grace in motion, this one.
He wouldn’t smile. Cause the horses “stink bad, mommy”.
The boys and John are flying back from Toronto later today and I’ll be working most of the day. Which is good if only to keep my mind off of the flying part. Hope everyone has a good day today and takes a minute or two to remember all of those who lost their lives 9 years ago today. I’ll be remembering. -
the levi family
Ok, so I know I’m like a day plus a half a day late in a new post, but I’ve been so busy editing and with other bsquared business related projects, blogging kinda fell off to the side for a bit. I’m back though with a fantastic beach shoot with a great family who I love working with.
It was worth the wait, dontcha think?
They were my first family to photograph after my “vacation” during August and the kids were sooooo good to me- making my first shoot back lovely and fun. And easy!!
Finally figured out what jokes to tell to get this one to smile for real.
A true beauty. I mean, really. Can’t get enough of photographing this one.
He’s grown up so much and I love him telling me he’s ONE (after he told me he’s 5 a few times though)

Thanks for a great first shoot back to work. Hope you love your pictures! (Oh, and can’t wait to see what our location is for next year!) -
the zimm family
So, even though there really wasn’t supposed to be, there was SO much pressure going into this shoot. Why? Because the beautiful and talented Shira is a professional photographer herself. We decided to trade shoots (we haven’t done mine yet- still working on that!) and I went and took pictures of her fantastic little family.
Love the angle and the interaction here.

Someone’s a little jealous…
Can you see their matching dimples? So cute!!

Shira, you are beautiful!!
Really, really, really hope you like the pictures Shira and family. Sorta freaking out here! -
back to school
Don’t even know how I feel. Excited, happy for them that everyone had a great sendoff this morning, sad, lonely, numb. Enjoying the quiet and editing in peace. Missing Timmy’s little voice and face so much. Not missing the bickering and arguing from them being together all summer. Missing Jack & Patrick talking baseball. Missing all 3 so much and can’t wait until 3pm today to hear allllll about it.
In retrospect, I’m thinking I didn’t plan this out to well. Big boys starting Middle School and Timmy starting Kindergarten all on the same day? Not working for me.
Took the boys up to the Middle School last week after orientation to set up their lockers and walk their schedules again. Took the pictures them so I wouldn’t have to embarass them (well, anymore that necessary) on the first day!

And this morning:
And Timmy this morning, an hour after the boys left:

Timmy’s BFF’s who are all in the same class!! Jack and Olivia- not to mention many other kids we know in the class. Looks like it’s going to be a great year!!
Hugging Daddy.

And he’s on his way.
Waaaaaaa!!!!

…and that’s that
Cannot even believe that summer’s over. And that school starts tomorrow. Happy and sad, excited and dreading it all at once. I’ll have some back to school pictures for you tomorrow (as I edit between the tears that will surely be streaming down my face) but for today, just enjoy some end of the summer beach scenes.
