We are doing this one in pieces. Some at Tanglewood the other day, and the rest today at their house. They recently TOTALLY remodeled the house and it is just phenomenal. She has exquisite taste. And we have very similar taste so I’m ready to move in. (So does that mean I have exquisite taste, too?).

Anyway, her daughter was so much happier (well, for the most part- there was one meltdown but she did get back into the groove) in doing this today. It was a lot warmer out, we were home, and she knows me more so I think she was more comfortable overall. So I think we actually had some fun. I saw alot of sassiness in that little girl that I didn’t know exisisted before. I mean sassiness in the best way, spunky and fun! She is always so quiet and shy, but now I know the other side!

I can’t wait to see what pictures they pick for the card. I have great visions for this one!  

This was the last one for the weekend. A really lovely, welcoming family. They were even game enough to move the big chair out onto the back lawn for some shots. When I walked in the mom warned me that the older of her two girls was "difficult". She was a great subject for a few minutes and then was just completely DONE. Done with me. Done with my camera. Done with the whole deal.  I would be able to get her back in the groove for a second or two at a time, but as soon as I picked up the camera, she was hysterical again. I know her mom was dissapointed because her older girl was in no way whatsoever going to give us a shot of her and her baby sister together. No way. I did manage to sneak one or two in between tears and cookies. But not the sitting pretty shot. Can’t get them all.

I did manage some great candids. Both girls were sooooo photogenic with those amazing blue eyes. Maybe if I see her again, I can convince her that my camera really isn’t so bad.

This session was just too easy. The only challenge was the dog! I’m not used to big kids- especially ones that just sit perfectly still until you say they can move! Very nice family and a fabulous house. The oldest is heading off to college next year so lots of upcoming changes at that home. Ends up that they are friends of friends, and we didn’t even know it.  

First one for the day today and it went really well. Great boys, very energetic! Luckily, they saved the energy part for the end of the shoot, so I got some good "formal" looking ones in the beginning and more relaxed ones toward the end. The big boy was like IN the pond toward the end, balancing on a piece of wood. I still don’t know how he stayed totally dry! And the little one found the BIGGEST leaf ever.

This was the BIG family I was talking about. There are seven brothers and one sister. Yes, seven. I think they scared me a little. Ok, maybe more than a little. It was a fun shoot, but it was a very big group. Getting all of them looking at the same time (and not goofing off, and not blinking…) was quite a challenge for me, but I think we pulled it off. Every brother has a girlfriend or wife, except one of them was missing today . She is out of town but I am going to get her next week and try to photoshop her in accordingly.

It was definitely an adventure with this crowd!I’m just so impressed this group managed to get all together, coordinated, and in the same place at the same time. Well, less one girlfriend.
